Another decent round by Lawrie today. 3 under after round two and currently in a tie for 10th.

It would be nice to see him at least hold that position - or even improve, instead of his usual slide down the board on the weekend. It is a short tight course, so maybe this week the "big bombers" won't intimidate him,.

Exactly. He seems to be playing decent golf and it wold be great to see him get a top 10.

He's up to tied 8th now! Come on Lawrie! :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,075 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Tied 9th for Peter Lawrie going in to tomorrow. Really hope he can maintain this momentum and earn a good few bucks this week.

Level par round for Lawrie. Currently T-11. Chance to gain a few places tomorrow if it goes well.

That'll do nicely - good chance tomorrow, but I just hope he keeps his nerve.

Just switched on a man this course looks rough around the edges, maybe it's just me and watching too much beautifully manicured American courses.

Rough around the edges but nice to see a real old style course for a change - and asking lots of questions.

A bit rough around the edges all right, and with the wind up today, it's playing very difficult. Yes, it does make a change.

They mentioned that the grass was dormant at this time of year so that probably explains why it look bare in places.

Really tight claustrophobic course, I think it's great.

75 for Lawrie today to leave him in a tie for 31st on 1 over.

That has been his pattern almost every event. Frustrating.

Haven't been watching long but the standard of golf seems poor!

Pity. Just another couple of shots would have made quite a difference to his pay cheque. Like tour school......one more shot and he would have had his card.

Delighted he has another chance next week though.

The last few holes here have been like an amateur club comp. shockingly bad shots from the leaders

The whole round has been car crash golf. Amazing what pressure can do.

......and the experts will tell you a 15 handicapper shooting a bad back nine, after starting well, is pulling for 0.1 :)

    Car crash stuff

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,075 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Who would have thought Chowrasia would be in a play off after a +5 round. Anyway, after the two drives down the playoff hole, it's advantage Lahiri.

Jeez I'd fancy my chances against that chap.

That wasn't great viewing, nobody wanted to win it.

Lovely putt from Lahiri to win. But a very forgettable morning of TV.

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,361 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

Great for Lahiri though. That'll get his world ranking up towards 20th in the world you'd imagine ?

Thought it was very enjoyable myself, nice change from the bombers birdie fests.

Lahiri looks the real deal, PGA tour beckons for him.

Nice to see golfers from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka etc contending.

Lawrie feeling the pressure of playing for a cheque again, still no panic. He has better playing rights than most with his weekly sponsor invites :)

Might squeeze top 30, movement much less with point tallies for the top 50 guys.

Provisionally up to 34th now, not too many world ranking points on offer for that tournament given the poor field.

Lawrie gets €10,631 towards his full card fund.

He'll need more. But he has another chance this week.

Great start for Peter Lawrie. Birdies at each of the first three holes! Currently leads by one.
