Here comes Trump to compound this rubbish.

It’s like NBC are trolling the audience now on who the most annoying and controversial people they can get on.

A little disappointed Trump didn’t slag off McIlroy after his comments

This sounds like one of Trumps rants at his election rallies.

    Disgraceful.

Surely Patrick Reed or Kim Jong Un are up next.

Think people expect 69 year old Bill Murray to be funny and when he isn't the hate comes.

I’m bored now. How they are as slow here as playing in the final group at the masters.

I'd rather just watch them walk the fairways and listen to them chat.
Oh and cutaway when Wolff swings

I thought they had to be off the course by now!

That was absolutely underwhelming, but I suppose when you’ve been starved for two months, any crust is welcome!

One four-ball is always going to be boring.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,736 ✭✭✭CalamariFritti

I think what really made it boring was as far as they were concerned they just played with monopoly money.

They should have been in it with 10 grand per skin of their own money or more even. Would have been a different game then.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,175 ✭✭✭✭Mantis Toboggan

Yeah but it's a charity thing and 10k a hole won't raise much. Coverage from Americans is never good and just following a 4 ball on a bland enough course with not much at stake was always going to be fairly boring.

I know it's another gimmick match but does anyone know how we can watch the Tiger v Phil & co. on this side of the pond? It is not listed on Sky.

Wonder would it be cos of distribution rights of the channel? Sky go can be watched across the eu, so maybe different carriers in other countries. So find sky go tends to mainly be the sky channels and box sets.

Players may need a canoe on the course today

Weather looks miserable, the green in shot looks flooded.

Just came here to say this. The weather is manky. All square after 1. Came across it completely by accident.

Chicken legs on tiger vs the monster calves on Phil. Nice to see them slogging it out in the wet while we get the heat wave here for once. Massive wide fairways, god I'd love them in my place.

The tour is back this week. Lowry, McDowell and McIlroy all playing. Be interesting to see how it all pans out without spectators.

Really excited of the PGA Tour's return in Texas this week for the Charles Schwab Challenge. All of the top 5 players in the world golf rankings are playing in the famed Colonial Country Club in the Fort Worth and Dallas area.

Personally I feel really excited to see Tiger again and while he isn't playing this week, from the evidence that I saw in the Phil v Tiger plus Manning and Brady match, he is swinging it beautifully. I feel he could be the most to gain from this near 3 month break of competitive golf due to covid 19. Can't wait until Thursday now!

This weeks field is not far off a major field . All desperate to play!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,887 ✭✭✭ionadnapokot

    Really looking forward to this.
Particularly interested to see how Brooks is swinging it. & who looks sharp.

Cant imagine we will be seeing any spectators for a long time.

But who will shout "Get in the hole!" and "Mashed Potatoes!" at inopportune times now?!

I'll have to train Alexa to do it...

Very interested to see all those guys when were working their way back from injury and those working with new swings.
I believe Brooks went to Butch Harmon to sort a couple of things out. Ricki has had a lot of time to get in sync with his new swing. Jordan Spieth too and he likes this course a lot.

It's a great field otherwise though. Also Tiger's boat is currently heading north towards the Carolinas... where next week's tournament is being held.

16 of the top 20 I believe, it must be the best field for a non major/Players/WGC in years

Interesting to see what the coverage will be like. Not a huge fan of CBS. Apparently Faldo won't even be at the course but available through Skype. Will be strange without the fans and the grandstands. Great to have it back though, something to watch.

Spectators should only be let in when vaccine/cure has been found.

And i was actually looking forward to seeing Agusta without any spectators.

New Zealand resumes rugby this weekend with over 30,000 tickets sold for Sunday's game in Auckland.

They don't have a vaccine either but no new cases for three weeks.

I'm astonished that NZ were able to get to "virus free".
    Wont happen in America.

Just thinking about it again Golf is probably best positioned to allow some spectators back.
The "get in hole" gob****es will of course be the ones who will not respect social distancing.

    .

NZ had very few cases to begin with, they went on lockdown around the same time as us but had far fewer cases. It helps that there country is in the middle of nowhere.

True but did you expect anything different from FG?

When they did close their borders they had far fewer cases.

I've a buddy mine over there remember him telling me all about their lockdown which was similar to over here. It was a few weeks in, think we had 400 odd dead at the time which was being heralded, I asked him what the death toll at the time was (border had just closed) his response was 1. Easy to "defeat" it when there's so few cases.

12.45 for coverage to start of the featured groups. Good pairings too, as has been said it's like a major field
