Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Was in the same boat and cashed out. If he was ahead outright by even one i'd consider letting it ride but the fact Walker is 1 ahead and Choi is level means i can't see the 6 under holding up. Still hope i'm wrong as Sneds nearly deserves to win after his round in that yesterday.

    Damn haha

Can't remember the last time there were three ROI golfers playing in a regular PGA Tour event - is this a first?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,378 ✭✭✭HighLine

Lowry, Harrington and McGinley played in the AT&T at Pebble Beach last year but other than that, I can't think of another recent event.

Harrington, Mcginley and Am Open winner Brian McElhinney

Kevin Phelan played 2010 and 2013 US open but Only Harrington From ROI

He'll have enjoyed that! Great start - hope Paul Dunne can follow.

Shane is joint leader with Phil - having a stormer! Let's hope it inspires the other Irish playing later.

Shane now sole leader thru 12 holes at -6.

Ugh, Shane's approach on 6 just inches short, and rolls back. Hope we get to see more of him.

Lovely second shot on 8.....another birdie chance.

It was just a par. One hole to go.

Feherty said "it's one of the few games left that you can still have bad habits" comment after Lowry hit his Tee shot. Did he mean golfing habits?

And now he says that Lowry is from Mullingar. Because he won the Mullingar Scratch Cup.

Par on his last for Shane. A round of 65 - very nice indeed.

Meanwhile Harrington has started par bogey bogey. :(

I suspect Sky will have gone off the air by the time he gets there.

Just picked up his first birdie on 3.

Harrington safely on the green at the stadium hole.

Did play get stopped? Sky leaderboard shows dunne as just finished 13th, lying at -1.

Delighted for lowry, hope he keeps it up.

Yeah play was delayed in the morning due to frost.

Play suspended due to darkness. They had a delayed start because of mist which obviously had a knock on effect.

Paul Dunne still has five holes to play, sitting at -1 after 13.

In other news I see Keegan Bradley got a penalty for having 15 clubs in his bag. Pepsi must be in a bit of trouble :D

Apparently play was only delayed by an hour yesterday morning so you would have thought they would have got more played than that!! Someone must be playing at snails pace.

Last shot Sky showed was Dunners approach to the 9th. Gob****e in Sky studio said it was his last hole and a nice way to finish his day!!

Couldn't have happened to a nice guy :D

Paul Dunne ended up shooting 72, which is disappointing - dropped two shots in finishing out round 1 today.

I think he has more or less turned around and gone straight out on round 2.

Yep, and birdied his first hole (the 10th).

Edit: I notice he bogied the 16th (stadium hole). I'd say he couldn't get off that hole quick enough :)

Opened with a birdie, back to level.

Bogied the second, back to +1 :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Three bogies and one birdie so far for Harrington :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

    Lowry opens with a birdie!

Paul Dunne needs to pick up another couple of shots to make the cut.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Dunne had a level par round so is +1 - doesn't look like it will be enough to make the cut, but might get lucky. Top 70, is it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,378 ✭✭✭HighLine

Think it is top 70 anyway... looking like 2 Irish will be going home early.

Elsewhere.. wtf was Poulter at here putting one handed during a tournament round??

Lowry hated his drive on the par 3 7th.......but holed a monster for birdie!

    Sky showing him this evening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,882 ✭✭✭WHIP IT!

I would have thought it might be a rule infraction to putt with a hand in your pocket. I don't really know why, but in the crazy tight and uncompromising rules of golf, I would've have thought you were breaking some kinda 'anchoring' rule?! :o

This thing is funny - but also head in hands at times.
