The format and score tracking isn't that complicated.

I'd hate to have any of the commentators working out the change of a fiver for a litre of milk!

Hard to tell from shot tracker but did Rory just have a duff chip on the 1st? Johnson goes 1up.

Not quite sure, coverage doesn't start until 2.
He's back in the lead 2-1

Followed by a shot to about 2 feet on the 11th.

Zach Johnson then sinks his birdie, huge putt. My god I hope Zach gets dumped out

Great to see a variety of holes set in a great looking location.

A few holes are ruined by the big ugly netting around the range but other than that I like it. Kind of like Sherwood, where Tigers tournament was played for a while.

Without having the as-it-stands for Ryder Cup places, Cabrera-Bello seems to be rising steadily. Could be a big year for him!

No American in the semi finals.

So has Jason Day done enough already to get back to number 1?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 3,288 ✭✭✭mickmackey1

    Yes.

If Rory wins, will he have done enough to leap frog Spieth and jump to number 2, pushing Spieth to 3.

    Just for maximum drama :)

    No don't think so.

If not Rory then would love to see Raffa win. Worked with the Sky Production team for two Irish Opens and they where saying he us one of the soundest guys on tour.

Didn't expect McIlroy to get this far! Should be a cracker against Day

hook it into the trophy and smash it....game over

Rory starts off with a 326 yard 3-wood, leaves himself a flick of a wedge only 63 yards and finishes 43ft from the hole. He won't get away with that short game today.

Good recovery by winning the 2nd hole.
His wedge play is the new putting

A beauty of a shot from Rory to the par 3 4th to 7ft. Day misses the green.

At this rate the winner of Day v McIlroy will win the final at a canter

Why didn't you expect him to get far?

Louis will be a stern test for Rory or day if he wins his match

Because he wasn't playing very well early in the tournament and was lucky to win some of his matches.

Poor attempt to win the hole there by McIlroy

He did the same last year..

This format suits him perfectly. He can have his stupid blow ups and instead of them costing him a tournament in strokes he only loses a hole but he is one of the top birdie makers on tour which wins even more holes.

His record over the past couple of years speaks for itself in this

Rory in big trouble now, day is playing some great stuff.

The slowness of Day is disgraceful

It must grind you down playing against him

both used irons off the tee and both hit it right
    pretty poor shots

So slow Day is. Kills any momentum his opponents build up

Something wrong with the rules of golf when your opponent can take 3 times as long as you over every single shot. I used to like Day but will be rooting for Louis in the final.

Little bit anti climactic even if it was a great putt to win from Day. Rory will be kicking himself after that round.

At least he can look forward to another 18 holes now :p

It's painful watching Day, he's just so slow. The standard of golf has been poor all day, but Day makes viewing even more difficult.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,889 ✭✭✭DuckSlice

is he this slow in normal tournaments or is it just because he is last one out and only 4 on the course that he is taking extra time?

Not sure but every putt is like the winning masters putt. Its bull.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,675 ✭✭✭ronnie3585

I suppose it's exacerbated by the fact that there's only four on the course and there's no-one else to watch.

Went to bed when they were at the 12th last night. Has Day finished yet?
