This is my get out for a quick spin route :)

I might start tacking on Dunboyne to the route myself.

Joined Naas CC myself at the start of the year. It is a little bit of a haul in the car over, but since I started figured it was worth it. Really nice bunch of people there. I find it gives good to routes further south into the county and into the Wicklow mountains.

Friendly bunch with a year around Failte Group each Saturday @ 9.30am in the carpark of K-Leisure.

On the days of the summer (next year) would be interesting in meeting up with some peeps from Maynooth and getting an evening spin going mid week, nothing too fast or too far.

It's a long way off I know....next summer! but I too would be interested in a summer mid week spin from maynooth:)

For people around maynooth and surrounding areas who are looking for group spins , the Galway cycle training spins will be starting up in the next couple of months , these are usually held on Saturday and Sunday mornings from maynooth college , they tend to start at short distances at a slow enough pace building up each week to 100k spins at a quicker pace and then around Easter time they cycle to Galway on a Friday and cycle back on a Sunday

+1 on everything Sullzz says above, these training spins are ideal for beginners and experienced cyclists alike, for example, on last years Maynooth to Galway cycle I met cyclists who hadn't cycled for years and found the training ideal for getting back in to cycling, on the same event I met an experienced club cyclist who was doing La Marmotte the following week, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Marmotte, he found the Galway cycle great for stamina building for the La Marmotte climb.

Sounds like a decent enough route. Never ventured to Dunboyne, road always looked quite busy and blind. How do you find it? Do you approach it via a backroad?
hi there TonyStark, (sorry for the delay in responding) the route is grand no real issues, there are a couple of bends along the side of Carton House that are sharp enough & a numpty driver overtaking you on them meeting a car coming the other way(not happend to me yet) would be the only real issue. its about 8 kms & flat as a witches tit.

    Hi all.
I'm near Maynooth and would be happy to head out for spins with anyone in the area.
