    Complete rubbish tbh.

Drop the strawman argument, I didnt make any generalization.

You should review his tenure as England Manager again.

Aye,sure QPR is chock full of England internationals.

    Good appointment IMO,for both parties.

Nope but you can be sure that their English players were watching the games.

Derby County he was a success.
Man United he was a success.
    Middlesbrough he was a success.
Twente he was a success in his first stint.

    England he failed.
    Wolfsburg he failed.
    Twente he failed.

He took over Nottingham Forest at a weird time but if you want to call that a failure that's up to you.

The above doesn't show that his failures far outweigh the successes IMO.

For McClaren personally I think it's worrying that not many clubs are interested in him as a manager. Working under Harry as a coach I hope helps him get back into a big managerial position in the near future. When he left Man Utd years ago he should have excelled as a manager and even now should be managing them. Time will tell how he gets on. Best of luck to him.

His failures are more recent though, but it all depends on what QPR players think of Redknapp. If they back Redknapp they will back this appointment but if they are still not on board with Redknapp they might oppose it.

Plus when you lose out to Owen Coyle for a job it is not a great sign.

Deflecting, I didnt say what you claimed I said.

His most high profile job was a spectacular failure, it was in charge of his country's national team and you think thats all forgotten about now? All his failures since then, forgotten about?

Plenty of great coaches make poor enough managers.

Kidd, Queiroz and McClaren are three examples of highly respected coaches that didn't make the change to great managers - it doesn't devalue their ability to coach; just shows they aren't cut out for the extra work required as a manager.

I think McClaren is an excellent appointment.

Wow, this really surprises me. I can't believe Liverpool would sell him and so cheaply too. This guy is going to be top class imo. Bargain buy for Swansea, only 21 now.

Can't find the source for this quote so take a pinch of salt with it
Perez: 'Levy, the English clubs president, is not open to negotiation, and faced with such inflexibility an agreement is not viable' #Bale

Also re Ade while he didn't score enough last season he was still extremely important in our overall play needs to be replaced with a better player if he's sold.

McClaren is an excellent appointment to a coaching staff. Wealth of experience and his ability to COACH and drill into the details on the training pitch have always been well regarded.

If Liverpool get 6 million for shelvey, that's an absolute fantastic deal for them! Didn't Liverpool pay like 1.5 millon for him?

Massive profit at that rate. Will be a decent enough signing for swansea though but that 6 million is a lot...

Barry would easily go straight into Arsenal's midfield. Absolute bargain at £3m.

There's no way he's 'easily' better than Wilshere and Arteta anyway.

Thats because Liverpool bought him when he was 17 - 18 . He has been a fringe player and looks to have alot of potential . I think its a very good move by Swansea .

Wenger may be called cheap at times but he's not stupid, there no way there's any truth to that.

I really hope that's sarcasm? He wouldn't even make the bench.

He's been a solid starter in a team far superior to Arsenals the last 2 years. He'd be a great buy at that price.

Cause that means anything when looking at specific positions

I wouldn't have him near our first 11, we do need a midfielder but if Wenger was to buy Barry as the answer I would not be one bit happy. Arteta is much better player than him and hes certainly not better than Wilshere or Cazorla either.

In that midfield Barry would be coming into the same position as Arteta and well this says it all

He'd be ok for the squad alright at that price. However he wouldn't 'easily' walk into the starting line up as seems to be suggested. And Arsenal don't really need more 'good' players to make up the squad, especially in midfield. Higher quality players are more needed to compete directly for first team places.
