Laying a lawn advice

    Im currently trying to sort out the garden just wondering do you need to put top soil on before you put grass turf on or would ya get away with just throwing fertilizer on it :P

    If the prevailing ground level is satisfactory you shouldn't really require any topsoil. Always good to have prepared the ground before laying turf. Ideally create a fine tilth on top layer by raking or spreading a mix of lawn sand and compost, sprinkle area with a lawn fertilizer.

    Water new turf regularly (especially during dry spells) until it becomes established (2-4 weeks).
