Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Aston Villa spend more on wages than Dortmund do, which is quite amazing.

    Just read that on twitter.

Its a very misleading stat. The tax in Germany is lower so they don't have to. In reality, the german players are on more money.

Kaka cost more than the Dortmund XI!
    Also, from Twitter!

    This one isn't though:

Dortmund bought Piszczek, Gotze, Gundogan, Bender, Lewandowski, Subotic and Kuba for the price English teams have spent on Charlie Adam.

Yes. Have you seen the other 99% of his games? And I never claimed play all four at once. You need a squad.

Best of luck keeping players with that high a profile happy in a rotation system.

Ah, never think of tax. I should upgrade to FM13 so I can know the tax rates for each country :D

You have a good memory :D

What did I say? You get a jersey, if Borussia lifts the cup after beating Bay**** with 2:0, goals by Leandowski in the 23rd and Reus in the 85th minute? ;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

No, just several feeble attempts to convert me to Dortmund :D

But if you insist, I wouldn't mind jumping on the bandwagon at this moment :pac:

Germany run their clubs properly unlike most English clubs.

A season ticket at Bayern costs less than one of Arsenals games, not sure if true but German football fans have got cheap tickets, standing sections and alcohol in stadiums. that means full houses every week.

Didn't see the Bayern game but I really want to say that it's a real pleasure to watch this Dortmund team, really entertaining.

As a neutral I'd love to see Madrid get another to make the 2nd tie interesting

United should have beaten this Madrid team, Mourinho nearly guaranteed to be moving on in the summer.

Pretty sure arsenal season ticket and the food at their stadium is amongst the highest in England if not the highest.

Including academy players is not the way though. I'm sure Gundogan and Subotic cost around 9 million.

    Gotze is a youth product.

You might as well say Charlie Adam cost more than Xavi, Pedro, Busquets, Iniesta & Messi if yer going to include youth products

Germany has very low wage inflation so that would be a factor

The paint used to mark the pitches in ALL of Germany costs less than the paint used to mark the penalty spot at the Ethiad :pac:

Got to say, although I think Jose got his team selection/tactics a little bit wrong tonight, Dortmund have been superb

Also think a final with teams for different leagues would be more entertaining. Dortmund and bayern know each other very well could prove to be a very cagey game.

It's only half time in the tie I know. But I just want to say that I said we'd be better as underdogs when many thought we had little to no chance in this tie.

    So ****ing proud right now.

    I <3 BVB

Agrees the Madrid team does not function with Modric and ozil on the starting sheet. Di Maria offers so much more and ozil centrally is a more complete player as the 10. Higuaen doesn't come looking and offers nothing as the lone striker. Benzama would have been the better choice

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

What a brilliant result, absolutely delighted for BVB.

All German final now. If Madrid had pulled another back at the end they would have been back in the tie.

Hard to see Dortmund not scoring in the second leg.

Wasn't expecting that, great win and great character shown by BVB after conceding late in the first half.
