Anyone ever stop off and eat in either pub? If you have, what was it like?

Also, anywhere around Arklow area that does good pub grub or cafe food?

Both the Beehive and Jack Whites are owned by the same people.

Food is fine for the most part & good value.

Beehive used to do a great breakfast but unfortunately no longer the case.

Have often stopped in both - food fine -- nothing spectacular but good value. Jack Whites used to do a special offer mid week of 3 courses for €15 but that seems to have ended. I prefer the Beehive just for the brighter interior etc and easier parking but both are fine for pub grub. In Arklow the only place I went/go to regularly is the bar in Arklow Bay Hotel. Usually fine, have had some great and a few not so great meals there -- seems more variable than the other 2.

Christies and Darcy MaGees in the town are pretty good spots for food.

The Bay does both a good carvery and pub food. If you're willing to travel a bit, Woodenbridge is great too.
