I'm wondering if Mata might be a good shout at home to Swansea. But will wait to see what happens on Thursday before deciding obviously.

my thoughts exactly, i think chelsea could run riot against swansea, only danger is though that mata may be rested whereas Bale is a guaranteed starter. That could sway my decision, it may become clearer after tomorrow, if mata plays 90 minutes i won't be risking him, not when there is such a great second option in Bale or even tevez.

I'm going to wait until after the Chelsea game tomorrow night. I can afford to transfer in Hazard or Mata so want to keep an eye on what selection plays.

Bale, but only because I think RVP may be under pressure at Arsenal

Do you think he'll even start?

None of the above. Walcott for captain.

Bale delivers in away games, will be my choice even over RvP.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,264 ✭✭✭✭manual_man

Wow RVP only 6%. Looks like i'll have myself a differential this week :pac:

    Voted Tevez.

Something really nagging me though, and that is Mancini.

Even though Tevez started last 5 games, Mancini could decide to start Aguero up front alone? Mancini is after all the ultimate headfu*k!

    Someone please reassure me

I think he'll definitely start Aguero as he'll want to give him game time before the FA cup final but I think he'll pair him with Tevez. They looked good against Chelsea and Dzeko has been off the pace lately.

There's no guarantee with Mancini though and the safe option is to go with the majority and captain Bale. It depends on how you are doing in your leagues, I'm top so I'm gonna bottle it and go with Bale :)

Mata on the bench tonight so think i'm going to go with him.

Im thinking the same. I think its clear to see that rafa does care about the PL there was a bit of nonsense a while ago saying that he only cared about cup competitions.

I think this week it's a tough one to call. No outstanding candidate for it imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,747 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

Mata might be a solid call but he doesn't have the explosive potential of Bale or Tevez for these games, my vote will go to one of them.

Samba away to Reading anyone? Anyone? :o

Ya that's what might hold me back from captaining him. With Tevez though, i'm afraid that City just won't be up for it against West Ham now that it's a meaningless game. Then Bale's away form is excellent so weighing up these factors, he might be the best bet. Tricky one :o

+1 I have noticed he is not taking as many shots on goal recently, a bit like the start of the season.

I loved him when he was playing off the striker, but he has looked a bit Carzola-ish lately, if you know what I mean

Always great potential for the assists though...

Ugh. I foresee a day of chopping and changing my mind between Mata, Bale and Tevez. And RVP is there at the back of my mind too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,709 ✭✭✭✭Cantona's Collars

The big guns for me are Bale,Hazard,RVP and Tevez.

I've chopped and changed them numerous times, hopefully it won't come down to an 11.29 mistake like I did 2 weeks ago.

Not obvious this week but sticking to my guns and going with Tevez

    Decisiveness needed people!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,223 ✭✭✭qwabercd

Between benteke, mata and bale. Very tempted by benteke but sunderland seem a bit better under di canio. Will probably end up going for mata.

Bale for me,away from home he is better than at home plus Wigan have to try get a result so will leave space at some point in the game

Just had a look at the table there...Wigan have conceded an average of two goals a game at home this season so that's another stat in Bale's favour.

Think I'm gonna change to Bale. Currently on Mata.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,440 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

currently on Tevez but thinking of Bale

Which should I go for ? I'm 17 points ahead in my money league for this month. 70 quid for the winner of the month, 30 quid for 2nd place in the month.....

and my brother in law is the guy in 2nd place, so I HAVE to beat him :D

he says he is going to captain a "secret" captain. He doesnt have either Teves or Bale....yet

Going with Bale. 2nd in my money league need to take a chance. He hasn't Bale and hes unlikely to take a 8 point hit as he'll have to clear Suarez and Giroud. I feel RVP will score Sunday so fingers crossed for Bale. .

i have pussied out and captained Bale

it's between bale and mata for me and i was thinking mata all week but just checked and in the last 9 matches bale played he's scored 10+ on 6 occasions, 2 8 pointers and only 1 2 pointer.

You've convinced me to change from mata to bale. I will blame you personally if this goes awry!

ha ha :) my own head is wrecked here, think after looking at his stats though i'll go with bale, it's also the safer option in that lots of people will be doing it, if i have mata and bale scores high i loose a lot of ground, if i choose bale and mata scores high i won't loose as much.

plus, if bale does nothing tomorrow i'll throw a few quid on mata to score anytime to ease my poor decision :D

Bale ahead of RVP and Mata

He is not on the poll but I've gone with Aguero. Passed fit & I'm sure he will play today up top with Tevez.

Watch he's not eased back in. Struggled with injuries all season and with only really the FA cup left to play for he could be used sparingly with the final or next season in mind. Was an unused sub last week.

Thinking of going with Demba Ba

Not on poll but fancy him to do the business against Swansea tomorrow

Im taking a gamble on Defoe with the season being nearly over and all that.

I have plenty of good captain choices to choose from this week and to my surprise it has been an easy decision and has not wrecked my head all week.

    Bale (c) Tevez (vc)

Surprised to see people captaining Mata ahead of Bale.

Had another look at this and against my gut I'm captaining Bale. I just can't ignore his form.

    Mata for me.

I've gone with Tevez. If I had Bale I'd be going with him though. I feel he will get at least an assist at Wigan and maybe score. He's been electric this season.

    Tevez starts :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭SickBoy

    Tevez starts :D

I'm worried this might haunt me, I had him as captain until the last moment when I changed to Bale.
Sometimes I wish I could wake up after 11:30 on a Saturday...

    Bale worked

    Tevez did not :)

Good job all the people who chickened out like I did and captained Bale :)
