Assignment 106: Otherworldly

Challenge 107 is "Otherworldly". Open to any interpretation you can come up with. Ideas are photographic techniques to make something look out of this world, a scene that inspires memories of a scifi or scary movie, anything that looks weird or odd.

Really open to your view of weird, odd or out of this world.

Rules:
-Closing Date is 2 weeks from now: Wednesday 08/05/2013.
-All submissions must have been taken by the person submitting.
-No Old Photos. Only photos taken within the challenge in mind qualify, therefore the photo must be taken between 24/04/2013 20:00 and 08/05/2013 20:00
-Theme is very open to interpretation but try to embody the theme in your photos. Get creative and stretch yourself.
-One submission per post, but submit as many times as you like as long as photos adhere to previous rules.
-The next task/subject is to be chosen by the person who has the most thanks after their post at the closing date/time

I took this photo with my Lumia 800 phone. It's Glenevin waterfall which I visited at the weekend. I think it looks Hobbit-esque.

Well, its been 2 weeks and this photo challenge has come to an end. Some really great entries, always shocks me the level of talent on this forum

First Place goes to Keps with a very very cool monochrome. Just love he shrapnel surrounding the blades, as if this thing crashed at speed:


2nd Place goes to Frostie500 with another surreal monochrome. Could be warp drive, could be a shilloutetted figure emerging from a super bright light. really awesome:


3rd Place goes to Salamanca for the errie double exposure building. Really atmospheric.


Superb job everyone.

Thanks for running the competition Fret Wimp2 – I just managed to stay ahead of late charges from Salamanca and Frostie500.


Given another day of voting I would most likely have been overtaken:)

My photo was actually a ‘contraption’ I saw on the roof of a barge on the Royal Canal with a little photoshop treatment.
