What would you prefer? Death penalty or life in prison?

The choices put to you are spend the rest of your life in a Cambodia (or similar SE Asian) prison, with family visits once every 6 months, with no hugging or embracing allowed, visits are extremely supervised and must be done through chicken wire, with 20 hour lock down and slave labour. As per Japanese style, you will only be allowed to stand or kneel or sit like a Buddha in your cell, no lying down or exercising in your cell. Minimum calories given as per the WHO. Visits from family and friends are only 20 minutes each and every 6 months. Cell has thin mattress and no bedding, blankets or pillow. You have to wash in a bucket and shit and piss in another. Cigarettes are banned and possession or consumption will incur corporal punishment. No books, card games or entertainment of any kind, whatsoever.

OR

A swift, painless death by hanging.

I'd choose the latter to be honest. What would y'all prefer?

Probably hoping to get out or escape at some stage.
I'm sure if it all became too much it wouldn't be overly difficult for me to end my life.

The Long drop method for hanging is supposedly instant, your weight and height are factored in by the executioner.
