But that was for last year cadetship recruitment though

Yeah but it was only 6-8 months ago. If there's another programme this year, it might be September before we hear anything.

Extract from this article from the Irish Examiner:

The company has an order with Boeing for 140 new A380 planes; the giant airbus is to be customised to meet a series of revised specs sought by Emirates and will be called the 777X.

ah great. Protesters at LHR blocking the runway - http://www.independent.ie/life/travel/travel-news/delays-possible-for-irish-heathrow-flights-as-activists-staging-protest-on-runway-31371683.html

what a fantastic idea - people protesting CO2 emissions by making planes go elsewhere causing more CO2...

Not only that, all those protesters caused over 1 million £ damage to the british economy

Why on earth did it take them 7 hours to remove them? Political correctness or Health and Safety?

Yeah, not like a day's increase isn't quite equivalent to a permanent change....

The only CO2 concerns should be the unnecessary fuel burnt by the aircraft in constant holding patterns near Heathrow.

Sensible logic is lost on those people.

Another runway would help relieve congestion, holding times both on ground or in air thus reducing the CO2. Just because there's another runway doesn't mean people suddenly start to travel more, even if it increases loads on LHR, that just means planes are not going to less favorable airports making people commute back to LHR (producing CO2) for connections.

So Ryanair are offering 30 people the chance to have their face on 30 of their planes in celebration of...well their 30th birthday. I'm guessing FR, DAA etc employees need not apply :P

What do people think of the Danish unions striking against Ryanair despite none of the union having any Ryanair employees as members?/

Eventful days call for relaxing late nights :)

I think the whole thing is rather stupid, and for once I think RYR are right to do what they are doing. They are showing how they won't take any of this crap and are pulling 2 bases from Denmark. It's not like pilots were being employed like Norwegian on the Asian contracts, Irish contracts are quite lucrative as we have a high cost (and quality) of living here.

    A&A Beers, anyone? :)

I remember talking about having another one in the summer.

last I heard they were about €80 per hour for the Captain and €60 for the FO with a 60 hour guarantee... Is that really considered lucrative? Certainly its a lot lower than the £113000 pa that there were advertising in Flight International circa 2001.

I know this is probably a joke but that's the mentality of too many people...'at least you have a job' Doesn't stop those running the show demanding more...and more...and more...and more...and more...and more...and more...and more... Oh well we'll all be unemployed soon enough wooo:cool:

Formerly known as Don Quixote Airport - the irony.

Spain's Ciudad Real airport sold at auction for €10,000

A group of international investors has won a bankruptcy auction for an abandoned airport in central Spain with a €10,000 (£7,000) offer - 100,000 times less than it cost to build.

Jeez, the Bray Airshow website is appallingly useless. http://brayairdisplay.com/
    Show information

Due to the huge traffic on our website we’ve had to cut down the information to the minimum. You will get up to date information on FaceBook https://www.facebook.com/BrayAirSpectacular and on Twitter @BrayAirShow.
    c'mon, seriously:rolleyes::mad:

I remember last year the live stream was absolutely shocking, a shame as the coverage was good when I got to see it.
