    Just why is it BOI won't issue bank drafts for under 500 anymore? Even though ye were charging for them anyway?

    Need to get a bank draft for the US embassy. Can do it with Ulster Bank and AIB no hassle, if only I had an account with them. Other options are useless given that it has to be a draft and can't be anything else. Was advised to use a postal order, pity they don't do it in dollars.

    We understand your frustration and appreciate your feedback.

    Since October 2012, Euro Domestic and Foreign Drafts under  €500 are no longer issued in branches. In cases where a draft for an amount under €500 is required, unfortunately we are unable to facilitate the request.

    We understand that this may not suit all our customers. In the majority of cases, payments can be made by other means. For example, it may be possible to make payments using your Visa Debit card, transferring the funds using 365Online or by sending a personal cheque.

    So Urban Sea asks a simple question, why does BOI not issue drafts.....

    forgive me for being thick or something, but I would gather from this, that Urban Sea was looking for some kind of reason as to why this facility is no longer available.

    BOI-Laura replys with a long winded statement which basically says BOI do not issues drafts anymore....   eh where is the reason????

    A business decision was made to no longer issue drafts for amounts under €500. We would not have any further information on why this decision was made.
