Wordpress Theme - Need frontpage portfolio and slider

Hey there,

Quick question that I'm hoping someone may be able to help me with.

I'm looking for a pretty simple wordpress theme, but I'm kinda getting overwhelmed by the choice that's out there!

I want my Home page to be a portfolio type of page, similar to Gridlocked (http://themeforest.net/item/gridlocked-minimalistic-wordpress-portfolio-theme/245947?sso?WT.ac=search_item&WT.seg_1=search_item&WT.z_author=OrmanClark)

that also has a slider along the top.

Basically, I want Gridlocked with a Slider, and I can't see to find one that ticks both these boxes.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know!

Look into a plugin for wordpress to insert the slider.

Cool, I can find the sliders, but I'm not sure how i get them to display on my homepage once I've set them up.

I want my homepage to be set to my latest posts, so I can't have it static.

Anyone have any idea how I can insert these sliders on my homepage?

Settings like that are often theme dependent, unless you want to dig into the php..

Thanks Kenny, I think this is the case, and I really don't want to dig into PHP!

I can find a bunch of themes that have a slider, or a portfolio page as the home page, but none with both.

If anyone else knows of one please let me know.

That's very close to what i'm looking for. I checked out some of themezilla's other themes too.

What I'd like is for the portfolio to appear on the front page under the slider. The entire thing, not just 3 of the latest posts.

The closest site i've been able to find in terms of structure is this one: http://www.thisiswhyimbroke.com/

Not a very nice site or anything, but i do like the layout.

Best to ask the devs on Themeforest - the themes you like might be set up with the slider or portfolio in a shortcode, enabling you to set up the front page how you like.
