They have been on a few years, right? Any changes lately that could have upset legal stations and/or ComReg?

No nothing had changed apart from rival pirate most likely reported us cos two much private information was known

ComReg won't care about that. They will act on legitimate complaints from other agencies, broadcasters etc. Information leaked to them anonymously by questionable sources won’t be taken seriously.

Are you sure it was a raid, and not a theft?

Surely was a raid warrent and all everything was above board but had way to much private info ah well sure thats the joys of it will be interesting to see what happens next with prosecution

They ran a wall to wall country format, I’d imagine that would’ve made them popular with older radio listeners and unpopular with KCLR whose country shows take quite a few listeners in
Redrock also improved their audio lately and started doing regular live shows, also heard a few ads being run a few months back
Fair play to everyone involved, it was a nice outfit - it just got too big
Is that all the Carlow pirates gone?

Listening to a relay of Energy 103 on 103.0 FM , possibly from the same stable as All80s and No.1 FM , some great 80s music and definitely worth a listen if you are from that era - and yes the Energy 103 jingles as heard in Dublin (and later resung for Century 100).

The short lived Energy 103 from the 80s is often forgotten but it was a great radio station with great audio on FM and AM - unfortunately it was not commercially successful and was bought out (TXs) by Q102.

Just noticed that Today FM have song information to their RDS radio text. I don't listen to Today FM much, so maybe they have had it for a while.

Didn’t Chris Carey put on Energy after shutting down Nova?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,657 ✭✭✭Infoanon

Nova was shut down by receivers appointed by the courts - section 205 issues iirc, Zoom launched the moment Nova closed down but went off the air when the receiver discovered they were using Novas FM TX . A few months later Energy 103 came on the air fronted by Tony Mc Kenzie and Sybil Fennell ,Chris was appointed as a consultant along the way but that's another story

Space Fm are on 99.5 in Dublin good signal, seem to be playing 90s dance cd on repeat, audio loud, rds on and off, Tallaght Sound due back on that frequency soon.
Fresh FM on 99.5 sounds even worse than usual.

That quoted post is from May 2013. So 6 years testing as Space FM and Fresh FM. A few more years testing needed maybe??

No, none due - nothing on the radar at all for 94.3.

    Its Connect FM now.

Phever now back on 94.3 - weak signal in the south East, little better in the city centre - BBC Scotland breaking through at times

Connect FM now on 94.3. Also Easy on a carrier on 93.2.

Now FM had no audio this evening, then came on at 8pm exactly with a liner, a bunch of ads, and a promo. Then went back to no audio.

Seems to me like the playout system schedule is messed up. Should be easy enough to fix that.

I picked up Connect FM driving between Ballinteer Road area and Marlay Park, less than an hour ago. The signal was very strong indeed. I heard '80s tunes being played.

If it’s Phever during the day with Connect in the evenings, it’d work better the other way round imo :D

I think their automated playlist doesn't be set right. I've heard it go from music to an ad then blank for about 30mins or so then the same ad plays again then blank for a bit then liner after liner then music they need to pay more attention its happening too often lately!
