Why can’t the BAI and maintain the infrastructure (and a set of permanent frequencies) to be used for temporary stations? Then, just change the source feed as the allocations change.

Surely there’s money in the fund to subsidize any excess cost (the operator should pay a share). Would also allow more niche stations the ability to get on FM without negotiating transmission fees and setting up links etc.

Dance 916 off air today. 2FM coming in very strong on 91.8 with them off.

No stream and no idents on air at all. Heard an advert... once... but that's it.

They've a FB page under the name 'Planet House Promotions', what ever that is.

    See here...
    https://www.facebook.com/planethousepromotions

Suspect they've just really just been holding the frequency while working on something for the future.

Its not in the BAIs remit, apart from that you cannot standardise a transmission network for the different types of temporary stations.

As an aside many of the regular temps already own their transmission equipment.

    Agreed.
It most certainly would be more expensive anyway as the BAI would have to rent the masts.
As it stands, most of the transmission providers have the infrastructure in place and a deal can be worked out with them.
Personly speaking, i think the current system works well.

There on 88.1, 94.3, 99.5, 101.6 in Dublin since this morning, surely they shouldn't be on until Friday night, seem to be using the same frequency as Xmas Fm.

a couple of those are impressive such as klub fm, cry, tip mw, life fm. i do pick up kclr, wlr, spin sw, midlands 103, tip fm, red fm, c103, spirit. all vary in strength. wlr kclr red fm spin sw 94.7 spirit fm are clear, the rest not so much. i have picked up 4fm the odd time, radio kerry as well. i picked up UCC once, used to pick up 96 fm years ago didn't they use another frequency up the band? the bbc and classic fm i will pick up in good conditions, once i picked up bbc radio deaven. picked up heart when it was real radio back in the day. Radio Pembrokeshire can come in the very odd time. i can get shannonside 104 the odd time as well in good conditions, and i got ocean fm once or twice. sorry for the long rambling post

Hip-hop show (or station) on 107.8 today. I think there was an ident but couldn't make it out. Coverage seemed okay from Dublin 12 to Dublin 16.

Any ideas? Could it be Belfield fm?

Receiving Radio Nova on 100.1, Q102.2 on 101.5, and Spin on 103.5 here in Jordanstown Co. Antrim

I gather Radio Nova on 100.1 is a new transmitter covering the Balbriggan area north of Dublin. Are the others coming from the same location ?

It's a tribute for one of their DJs, Andy Larmon, who was laid to rest today.

Very sad to hear . What times was he on NRG ? I listen to NRG trying to put a voice to Andy in my head .
