Connect FM has been taken off air.
Thanks for the happy memories. We loved bringing you THE GREATEST mix of 80s songs!
And now we return you to the endless talkshows, 'shock jocks' and 'phone in misery porn' drivel that makes up our Government sanctioned Broadcasting all across the FM dial................. hisssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Unfortunate to see Connect taken off the air so quickly - not the first to be taken off on a Friday 13th.

Possibly pressure from another station played a role - the more diversity increases overall radio listenership imho - alas others try to remove competition and listenership to radio falls

Again it raises the question of how can a small pirate station can be so damaging to a legal station.

To all involved in Connect a big thank you for providing some variety over the last number of weeks.

Are you referring to 99.5 or Connect? Was everything taken?

Interesting to note that Rince were taken off on a Friday around same time last year, October 26th or 28th I think.

Now on 93.2, with RDS as 'Test' and playing music. Signal coverage quite good.

On all weekend - good quality audio - good signal - not on today Tuesday.

Historically a station that has been raided that then comes back on the air with the same name tends to endure a second raid.

Test / Connect is a very mainstream station and has probably upset some legal stations.

At best a weekend service is the future for Connect

Strong UK signals this evening. Heard BBC R1,R2 r4 all with RDS in West Dublin. Heart on 105.7 also. Probably more on the dial too but I didn't do much of a search.

Radio INFO (French) was loud and clear on 105.2 - all the BBCs on multiple frequencies

Picking up FLIRT on 106.7 in Offaly, good signal, playing dance music.
Edit: Strong in both Laois and Offaly, DJ came on just after 5pm.

Whopper of a signal from FLIRT! Got it yesterday in Carlow with RDS, could probably have chosen a better frequency though

But Flirt is the name of the Galway based student station, right? A bit odd to choose the same name.

agreed. in saying that, beat fm down in tralee don't seem to have any problems dispite sharing the first name of the southeast regional.
mind you, it would be better if these stations stayed away from using names used by licenced services.

is space fm still on or is it off? it was back up online a couple of days ago but the stream is down again.

also is it just me, but listening to trax a lot the last while, it seems that tracks start a couple of seconds into them rather then from the very start. not a big deal, but it would be interesting to know if anyone else notices it.

Yes, we are aware of the issue you mentioned. We know the exact cause, and have a solution almost ready to go. We'll be making the changes in the next day or two along with some other audio improvements.

I had thought it was the NUI Galway station when I noticed it originally, but they are on different frequencies.
For a brief period while listening to the station the word STEREO appeared underneath the name, whatever that means.

Do you mean 105.7? I can't get anything on either frequency but I'm aware there has been a low power station by the name of Rhythm on air occasionally in the past.

Definitely 105.2, they say it’s only a test broadcast to test the equipment. Receiving it in Drumcondra, not sure if there’s RDS as I’m not using a radio capable of displaying it

Not getting it out my way at all. On Facebook, the other Rhythm FM claims to be on air on 105.7 but I can't receive it.

105.2 is not a good frequency. They'll need to make way for Christmas FM very soon.
