    Cork:
Caroline have moved to 107.0 while Hazard have moved to 106.8. Klub FM on 87.5, True on 87.8, Cityview on 97.6 and DHr on 104.9 all remain on air.

Klub and DHR are both receivable at the Radio Kerry Lispole TX on the Dingle Peninsula. Impressive

Serious? That’s some going. I’m surprised at the length Klub have stayed on air without being subject to a raid, what with their strong signal and carrying adverts.

Draw a line on a map between both, there would be a mountain on the line around the county border which is causing so-called 'obstacle gain' as its peak has line of sight (or almost line of sight) in both directions (transmit and receive locations ). I had quite good signals from Cork city (considering the distance) in a parking area on the Slea Head drive (south west Dingle Peninsula) some years ago, including VHF signals outside Band II which would not be big power. Providing the frequency is clear as well of course. Look at map the path was across water and relatively flat land as far as the Cork/kerry border Mountains, so whatever amount of signal diffracts over the border mountain top has a totally clear run onwards. The effect ('obstacle-gain') is more likely if the mountain top is peaked rather than rounded.

Interesting. It's quite impressive all the same for the pirates to be travelling that distance. Clear frequency especially 87.5 does help too.

It's a pity 97.6 from the Lispole site is the same frequency as Radio Kerry's north Kerry TX at Knockanore. Would make for interesting reverse reception

Knockanore is an absolute belter too. I remember it overloading the tuner on some cheapo portable radios I had, so you'd hear it over other stations on the band.

Do you know if there’s anything else on in Cork? Is Beat FM still on in Kerry?

    Is it Cairn Hill?

Thank you. Should not be an issue as our signal doesn't even nearly reach North Wicklow. Is the 107.3 transmission from Bray Head, Greystones or another site?

We wish Christmas FM the best of luck for another successful year. As always, we're approachable should anybody have any concerns.

105.2 is the highest power free allocation in Dublin at present. Makes sense to make use of it, apart from the interference from 105.0 in north Dublin.

Cairn Hill in previous years so I'd imagine the same again this year

Beat need to move alright. In ref to your earlier post, they are on air at present, 104.8 mono, weak signal though (as before). Plenty of free spectrum in Tralee though. I'm surprised they are on 104.8 at all because 4FM on 104.6 is quite clear in most of Tralee especially on higher ground.

Late addition, Christmas FM will also be on 105.7FM in Letterkenny this year.

I though 94.3 and 105.2 had the same power allocation but I am open to correction - 94.3 is the 'clearer' frequency so arguably its a better frequency, I105 modulate at 100% and can drown out 105.2 on certain types of radios

Space FM on 99.5 has been off the air for the last few days - possibly with 99.4 been confirmed for the North East or perhaps simply they have called it a day.

105.5 Limerick and 106.7 Cork now on air RDS XMAS

    105.0 Kerry still not on.

No sign of Caroline in Cork this evening, probably went off air as a precaution

Beat 104.8 Tralee was still on yesterday evening anyway. 105.0 Xmas isn't on air yet.

106.7 Cork is now playing a preview loop

Christmas FM, like 106.7 in Cork, is now on air on 105.2 in Dublin with RDS XMAS and is playing a preview loop. It says it will launch tomorrow at 1pm.

87.7 Galway now on air. 105.5 Limerick has the "WIMS" RDS on but Radiotext says Xmas FM

    105.0 Kerry still quiet

Can I ask why the WIMS RDS would be on Christmas FM? Is it the same transmission equipment or without RDS does a radio just simply bring up the last station that was on it when that frequency was tuned to?

Same equipment would've been used for WIMS - these are only tests after all.

87.7 Galway, 105.5 Limerick and 106.7 Cork all firing here in Limerick city tonight

Christmas FM will be using BTS for their transmission network, like many other temps do. Looks like they just haven't gotten around to updating the RDS data for that location. No big issue, it's not live yet and I'm sure it'll be fixed.

Yep. Cork relay had WIMS yesterday but was corrected this evening. Given that Xmas isn't officially on air until Tuesday there's plenty of time to fix it

On another note, church relay on 106.0 somewhere in mid Kerry. 6:15pm Saturday, receivable on N22 south of Farranfore
