No college stations licensed to be on air in Dublin at the moment as far as I know. What music is/was it playing?

80s - the licence list is often incomplete; there was a lot of breaks in the audio

No. This morning the band was made up of:
    88.1 Non-Stop Nineties(Nineties)
    91.6 Phever
    93.2 Kiss FM
94.3 carrier (which has since gone off air - signal strength would suggest that Infoanon’s theory that it could be a college station is fairly likely
    99.5 Fresh FM
    107.1 Trax

Sorry, I was only listening for about 10 mins, didn't hear anything.

If people are confident it is them, excellent!

Why the sudden return anyone know?

Apparently it was meant to come back this time last year but one of the main people involved pulled out.

I wonder, if Trax has anything to do with the previous owners. Be great if that station got some live action. Then again seems if you make to much of a good station you start upsetting the poorly performing 'legal' services.

OK so Hot fm back on air 94.3fm.Someone said on this site pirate radio is dead due to Spotify etc . What's very interesting is the pirates which engage with social media get the hits.

nope. the only link between the 2 is their use of 107.1.

it should be okay, people listening to trax wouldn't ever be listening to the legals anyway.

Can anyone confirm the strenght of the 94.3fm signal in Dublin? Someone mentioned its only in West Dublin. Not much of a super pirate if that is the case

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,903 ✭✭✭JDxtra

Here is a signal report from this morning, Leixlip area:

    88.1 Nineties - 42dB
    91.6 Phever - 55dB
    93.2 KISS FM - 46dB
    94.3 HOT - 54dB
    99.5 Fresh - 22dB
    107.1 TRAX - 38dB

Higher is better. This is just outside Dublin though, so others in the city will get different readings.

I’m pretty sure that the person who posted that meant that West Dublin was where he was picking it up

I'm living up in East meath. Phever coming in well. Very little breaks. Hot fm not great with many breaks
