Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anything BIG happening in Ireland this Summer that would be worth going to or seeing!?
AND before you say it, no thanks to OXEGEN!

Is there a place that is a must see this Summer?
Is there a festival that you'd recommend going to?
Which place do you think would be worth a drive on a sunny Sunday afternoon?

    Any suggestions? :)

if you get a sunny day the grounds of Kylemore Abbey in Connemara are beautiful. You get entrance to the Abbey, a small church and it's a lovely walk to the walled-in gardens and around the gardens themselves.

Their is plenty of things happening during the summer ,
The taste of Dublin in June
The Galway Arts Festival in July
    The Galway races july-August.

There is always one thing or another happening in Ireland!

We had planned to cycle the western greenway.
But accommodation prices are still too high. To stay 2days b and b in any hotel. Allow for food, no night time drinking. It would be €500+ for 2 adults and 2 kids.
I can get a week in a campsite in France for that money with good cycle facilities and it won't piss rain or feel like November.

    Ditto (minus the kids).
We were planning to start off in Donegal > Sligo > Galway > Then home.
It's working out at over €500 for just the hotel rooms with b&b (monday to thursday), and that's looking at all the deals sites. When trawling through those sites, i saw a few offers of a week in the canaries or spain at €500 for 2.
While we would like to holiday in Ireland, there's no way i'm paying those prices.
