Hi, I was looking at a '99 mazda 323 1.5glx yesterday and may make an offer on it tomorrow. I was telling my friend it had 4 elect windows, mirrors, esr and he reckoned it was a jap import with that spec. Hi,

I was looking at a '99 mazda 323 1.5glx yesterday and may make an offer on it tomorrow.

I was telling my friend it had 4 elect windows, mirrors, esr and he reckoned it was a jap import with that spec. To be honest, I don't recall the shape of the back reg plate, nor if the speedo was in km or miles.

If it were a jap import, would that be an issue?

Where is the VIN number, the one stamped into the chassis, not just the plate in the engine bay?

Also, what is the best site to check the history - cartel? Is it worth doing more than the basic €10 check?

There was an Irish spec 323 1.5 GLX with that spec on sale back then. Afaik Jap import 323s are called the Familia and would have kph on the speedo only.
