They must be using a type of resettable fuse as there are no fuses that you can remove in that panel apart from mains fuse.

All resettable fuses .... If your having a problem it will more than likely be a short as the fuses won't reset until the problem has cleared

Cheers lads, I was helping a friend out with the problem over the phone and realized they must be resettable.

he cut through a wire and its displaying internal bell fuse fault. I told him to repair the wire but it still hasn't cleared the fault. I'll get him to disconnect the echo from the panel and see if that sorts it.

    thanks again lads
    Paul.

If that doesn't work try power down the panel

the fuse has reset itself as the internal sounder is working, but the panel is still showing "internal bell fuse fault"

any ideas how to clear it.

Power down and back up . What software version is the panel

I powered down the panel for 10mins, still no joy.

It's ver 3.0.32, the internal sounder is working but the fault is still showing up.

Can you disconnect the internal bell and external bell and see if the fault clears.
Failing this there may be a problem with the re settable fuse on the PCB.

Let us know how you get on.
Did you install this system your self?
Do you fancy doing a full default if it does not work?

Disconnect the bells and try another one to see if it clears.

I'd be looking for a replacement. Still under guarantee I presume.

Sent an email to HKC regarding this.
I wouldn't say the PCB is faulty since the bells are now working .

  • Moderators, Home & Garden Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 24,789 Mod ✭✭✭✭KoolKid

That wouldn't necessarily rule out a faulty component or any part of the PCB.

I would have to disagree. The panel monitors the outputs for faults.
Could of damages the output if it was wired incorrectly.
Not saying that this was the case here.
Best bet is to bring it back for a replacement.

Are the fuses not located within the power supply ?
I've a spare one here if needed FOC

Wouldn't think so. More likely on the PCB.
