    They are a ratchet set, you anchor down the hook end and ratchet the other end until they are tight.

    Thanks for the reply, there's two hook ends though? So therefore both hooks need to tie on to something, kinda wondering where on the car?

    the video shows how to use the straps.

    you can attach the hooks to your roof rack or rap the webbing around your bars and hook the end around the webbing leading to the ratchet

    Not the best strap. Check out I-canoe or Great outdoors website, you will get better one there. Your better off with a 1 piece strap with a buckle.
