Personally I don't care because I've recently built a rig and now I think console gaming is for filthy casuals. :P

The irony being that both XBoxes and PlayStations (slightly less so the PS3) are just PC parts, albeit slightly outdated ones.

In the majority of cases they're based off PC parts. The RSX GPU in the PS3 is probably the closest major component of the current gen consoles to its off-the-shelf, desktop-based brethren.

Misunderstanding the above is what led to early PC vs. console arguments including the amusing claim that the the Xenos GPU in the 360 was no better than an ATi X1800.

Then again, if we're talking about irony we could always point to the origins of the Glorious PC gaming master race image? :P
