Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Cracking match.

I suppose the best team in the competition won. Awful game to watch though I thought, the beautiful game it wasn't.

Thought it was a great game

What's the point of this sub when the ref will add an extra 30 seconds on?

    Wasn't that bad, haha.

Have not enjoyed the antics of Munich tonight, have not enjoyed the ref bottling or missing things tonight

But overall this has been one hell of a game to watch and I have enjoyed it immensely

Must just be me then. I didn't think it was great, neither team kept the ball well, a lot of head tennis in midfield.

Well done, Bayern. Brilliant result for them. Their experience told in the game; Dortmund dominated for large tracts of the game, but were unable to unpick the lock of Bayern but once.

Well done, Bayern. Most worthy winners this season.

End to end neck breaking speed football. Far more enjoyable than anything else!

In fairness to Dortmund players, they have superb haircuts... Most of them.

Deserved for munich, delighted for lahm in particular and lthers even if there is some distasteful characters in the team.

Dortmunds defending was very poor for a final, sad for them as i really like em and no doubt they will be back next season. Fantastic fcuking game!!

So you thought it was a typical EPL game then....:pac:

Well deserved, best winners of the CL in the last 5 years by a country mile.

Good to see Dortmund fans still in stadium proudly holding flags up.

Chelsea and Utd could learn from that!;)

I thought it was a great game tbh. The only let down was the ref tbh. Bayern should of been down to 9 men but the ref is a bottler. Dortmund were robbed because of the ref but Bayern are the much better team and very much deserved to win in the end.

Refs are starting to destroy the game as a whole for me, so many bad decisions its getting ridiculous at this stage

Well done both teams-they gave us a great final.

    Great finish by Robben

Robben grabbing a flag with his own name on it :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,068 ✭✭✭Bodhisopha

I don't want to hear any more talk of this Bayern side being anything close to Pep's Barca. Pep's Barca would've destroyed Dortmund tonight.

Let's draw a line under that.

What was with the stoppage time? He scored at 88:30 and they didn't kick off until 90:45...

I don't care what you call the beautiful game, but I prefer end to end than one team passing it around between their midfielders and defenders for 5 minutes at a time.

The man I am happy for is Jupp Heynckes.

    But c'mon.

Leads Real to their first ECL in 30 odd years? Loses his job.

Leads Bayern to their first in 12 years? Loses his job.

What a joyless man Dunphy is.

Ha, Dortmund are over-hyped, United would have hammered them. ballbag.

Pep's Barca is essentially still there under different guidance and they got thrashed by Bayern Munich.

Better to pick up this team than one that lost three finals in the last four years.

The man I feel really sorry for is Weidenfaller; all the cracking shots he saved, all the times he kept Dortmund in the game... and he was beaten by a trickled shot from 6 yards. Sick... But that's football.

    He's just trolling.

How can a team that has just one the CL Final having been in 3 of the last 4 finals be overhyped?

Pushed. Not by choice. His comments in the German media about the Bayern hierarchy make that clear.

Of course, but it's not the same. We're talking peak for peak here. Nothing lasts forever, obviously.

Absolutely. They haven't stopped singing all night, and if there's any consolation to the players; they are still heroes to their fans. Regardless.

Brilliant support from the yellow side.

    What did he say?

Dortmund are overhyped. Ferguson is sitting at home thinking how he would have hammered them. Brady making him look like the hypocritical idiot he is.
