Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Imagine how good a player he'd be if he stopped trying to kill Bart Simpson

There must be immense pressure on Lamps knowing how historical his next goal will be.

Tonight would be a good time to get it as the game is nearly in the bag

Something like 7 goals for Luiz?

Not bad considering the amount of games he's played from CB.

If he's to be a midfielder from now on you could see him being a real weapon for chelsea on the attack.

    Be grateful it's not Benayoun!

    Be grateful it's not Benayoun!

I'd prefer Benayoun!!! Game's over, no damage can be done! Bring on Benayoun ffs.

Bringing on Mata is incredibly stupid considering that the game is over and considering the game that is coming up on Sunday. Jesus.

Chelsea's second European final in 2 years...

Could do a Porto in reverse.

Second half much better than the first in terms of performance.

Luiz scores a goal of the season contender.
    Benfica 3-1 up
in the other leg, so looking like a Chelsea v.
    Benfica final
    on the 15th!

That second half was excellent. An example of what this team can do, a warning of what might be to come next season and showing why Mourinho wants to come to Chelsea with the chance to work with that squad.

Some fantastic performances in that second half, Luiz oozes class and his goal was something special, Torres never stopped, his runs were clever, his hold up play good and he got the goal his play warranted. But the star of this show is Eden Hazard, everything he touched tonight was gold, his flicks breathtaking, his runs unstoppable, his awareness unceasing, he's a special player, a very special player and Chelsea's talisman for years to come.

    Amsterdam awaits.

Absolutely. In the first half Chelsea were treading water, possibly hoping to coast through to a scoreless draw or something. They clearly upped their game in the second half.

However, it has to be said that Chelsea have been Jekyll and Hyde all year. Unthinking players like Mikel and Ramires have been giving up possession far too easily. Bertrand is not proving his ability at the highest level - shades of Glen Johnson.

(Someone like) Mourinho coming in will pile on the pressure and get more out of the squad when it's needed. He should also beef up the defence and most importantly of all improve morale.

If we're going to challenge for the premiership, Chelsea will need a squad that can deliver points through the winter months. It's all very well having good starts to the season and getting into the groove again come March, but that approach won't deliver premiership titles.
