I have a race am messing on poor roads on Sunday, and want to avoid the p word.

Tyres are gatorskins.

Something with a lower Crr. i.e. most tyres.

Now assuming you bought a power meter rather than a dream catcher.........

From best to worst on that list 10.8 watts per wheel versus 24 watts

26.4 watts difference due to rolling resistance. Fairly significant.

Now factor in the fact that the gatorskin is probably the worst performing tyre in the continental range...........

Mich Pro Race are a decent clincher and don't cost the earth. I trained on them before and they are pretty puncture proof... until the centre strip wears down.

Bit tougher and slightly heavier but should be nearly as good to race on

Gatorskins are bullet proof but have poor grip in the wet and ride quality is terrible they're just to hard.

That's a good price!

I was looking at them recently at http://cycle.ie/promotions/continental/ as I will be replacing the pair I've been using.

Gatorskins on the winter bike, GP4000 on race bike / wheels. Only ever use Conti tubes now as so many of the cheap / free ones break off at the valve neck and are not as pinch proof.

Just ordered a set of those conti's, to put on my race wheels.
