Show No Mercy, Hell Awaits, Haunting The Chapel, Seasons In The Abyss and Divine Intervention are all savage albums with a good majority of the songs penned by Hanneman.

    Forgot about SITA. Great album

Saw Slayer in my teens at Ozzfest and then again in the Ambassador in Dublin.

Great gigs, particularly Ozzfest, such a buzz when they played.

It's a shame he passed as early as he did, metal/rock and roll takes them early, cause they live twice as fast.

We will always have the riffs!

^ This video is from the Combat Tour with Venom and Exodus I believe, what a lineup, at their savage best.

Spot on, not sure, think that was around 1985/86
Must have a rummage for that at home.
3 songs from each band I think, can't think of them all but
Exodus played Bonded by Blood, Pirhana and something else,
Venom played Black Magic, Teachers Pet and something else and
Slayer played Haunting the Chapel, maybe Black Magic and Chemical Warfare.
Can't remember fully but fcuk that brings back memories!

seriously though remember how chronically obese he suddenly appeared around 92?! anything else just seemed slim after it. the coke; the booze he was a heavyweight in every sense

flirted with danger and he wrote about the macabre>got bit by a spider, endorsed heineken>battled alcoholism... ikely both, contributors and there's some pictures i noticed of him having looked straight up rough in the face tbh in recent years and I would say his liver took a pounding in more ways than two.

Remember the tour, I went to a gig in Germany myself. Maybe the best gig, I even went to

Apparently those idiots at the Westboro Baptist Church are gonna picket his funeral. . Need I remind anyone that this is the same shower of utter fucktards that "rejoiced" at the Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings and the Boston bombings, among other things.

That's what they're hoping for, some irate Slayer fan will assault them and they'll launch a multi-million dollar lawsuit against them that'll keep their vile little club going for longer.

Sorry but have been nonchalant about his passing on here and should clear up jeff didn't have a coke problem; he stopped almost as soon as he started. He possibly didn't didn't even have a bad liver from alcohol nor the spider bite such a factor - heck he wasn't even that fat; back in '92 just had a double chin on him but this article suggests a viral hepatitis:

    http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/05/05/don-t-blame-spider-bite-for-felling-slayer-guitarist-jeff-hanneman.html

will tune in to McGowan later ;- god forbid!

Yeah that's how the WBC get their money. Not that I'd blame a fan, bandmate or anyone else if they did go and deck one of them, but it'd be simultaneously satisfying and counterproductive.

FWIW, I know a guy who got a spider bite in Oz years ago and still gets problems with it every so often. Cellulitis/possible sepsis. I've no idea how that works though.
Like a Morghul blade I suppose...

Words cannot describe or do justice the grief when I realised he had died, he will be missed and I didn't want to immediately post about it - I find it shocking that it has been virtually ignored in the Media, I had no idea he was even that ill to be honest

Slayer died this week for me personally, I don't think I will ever want to see them live again, Jeff was Slayer

To be fair it had nothing to do with his legacy or ability. It was more to do with "metal guy +spider+death=story"
