Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Stephen Carr has announced his retirement from professional football.
The 36-year-old, who has been at Blues for the last four-and-a-half seasons, will now take a break from the game to pursue business interests in Spain.

The former Republic of Ireland international was ruled out of the 2012/13 season with a knee injury last summer and now, with a glittering career behind him, Carr has been forced to finally call it a day.

While expected it is disappointing to see, he has been a great servant to Birmingham City. Probably one of our best ever signings. He showed he still had it, motoring up and down the wings, and was arguably deserving of an Irish call up. Will have fond memories of his time with Ireland and particularly with Birmingham, will never forget his gesture to the Villa fans and of course him lifting the Carling Cup.

I would have loved to have seen him stay on in a coaching capacity but he seems to have a pretty successful business, so can only wish him best of luck in the future. KRO.

Great career, possibly should have had more Irish caps but with Gary Kelly and Steve Finnan around for his best years it was always competitive to get in the side at fullback.

Ye what a sold career, obviously early on you had the 'Sol Campbell and Steve Carr to Arsenal/Barca' rumours, and Carr never really got that big move, Newcastle didn't really allow him to go to the next level although when he joined them they were pushing the top 4 weren't they, like it was a step up from Spurs?
