Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Break both your arms and then you'll realise that there are people who are worse off than you and you're one of them.

Unless of course you want to be washed by lovely young Nurses you can only cope with being helped back to your bed.

I agree: its role in all kinds of conditions is still being investigated. It's super-cheap, too - a couple of cents a day, often less in a multi-vitamin. (Don't listen to anyone who says you have to get vitamin D3 in particular: your liver processes the heck out of it anyway.)

I'm helping the OP out here. He could claim that since both wrists are suffering from fappers cramp a hot nurse will be appointed to lighten his load so to speak.

Are both hips broken OP? That's rough. How old are you, if you don't mind me asking?

They recommend Vitamin D supplements for all infants now too. I'd say it's a widespread problem in this part of the world.

I'm 54, the surgeon says it's a bit of a phenomenon. Nice to know. He also says that it is very much becoming a problem in the northern hemisphere. And yes both hips.

You could plan your future career as a contraband smuggler. Just remember to get a doctors cert and an xray to show when you get to the airport metal detector.

Is that what I will have to do, carry an x-ray?

How old are you OP. I wonder how likely something like this happens to people with vitamin D deficiency.

I'm 54 and the surgeon says that I may make the medical literature for this being so uncommon, but he also says that vitamin D deficiency is becoming a general problem in the northern hemisphere. I'm not trying to terrify people, just tell them what has happened and how easy it would have been to avoid.

    Did you fall or something?

If you go too mad on the vitamin D and don't have enough calcium to do the business you can actually have the reverse effect, your bones can become more brittle. One needs the other, a doctor knows better than the guy down at the gym who buys containers of creatine bigger than his head and necks back vitamins by the fistful expecting a skeleton like Wolverine.

Troll of the year is the op. Breaking both hips to pimp his vit.D monopoly is going to extremes.

Just joking obplayer. Get well soon.

No, it happened without any help. I started to get increasingly painful upper legs, to the point where I could barely walk, and eventually an MRI scan showed the problem.

You are absolutely correct, if in doubt about supplement dosage consult your GP, not the gorilla in the gym.
