I stayed away from here on purpose just in case I made the Baines to Luiz transfer after already taking a 12 point hit. I hope I don't regret it

I did however come very close to making Kone my captain over Bale, the sheer anxiety I had while I swapped it for 2 minutes was crippling enough let alone 180 minutes of it. I triple checked Bale was back where he belonged :pac: I swear this game really messes with your head.

very similar team to a person i'm 6 points behind for €100,

was hoping for better news when i looked at his team but on paper he has the advantage

    differences

    me...................him
    Hart (DG)..........Jussi
    Sagna...............O'Brien
    Mata (DG).........Silva (DG)
    RVP..................Lukaku (DG)

i really need newcastle to score but wouldn't bank on it, Mata silva could go either way but i'm relying on silva being rested, if he plays both against such poor opposition he could run riot, and i think Lukaku definetley has the upper hand over RVP this week.

just while i'm watching the Hull match here, I hope you are all getting set to welcome Paul McShane back to your teams next season :D

    My team for the day

    Jaask
    Davies Baines Zabaleta
    Michu Bale(c) Mata Walcott
    Lukaku Tevez Banteke

    Happy enough with that team.

I woke up this morning feeling really fatalistic. I feel almost certain my 12 pint hit to get Bale, Hazard, Kone and Tevez is going to backfire. I did it midweek before Hazard got that niggle, and I have no faith in tevez to do the business either. Bale obviously was a no brainer but Kone may have just been lavish. This is the week that ill break me, after playing so conservatively all year, rarely if ever taking any points hit to get in players. It has worked too, I'm 2nd in my league , but that's what led me to the decision to go mad with transfers...

One player I wouldn't of benched. I would have played Walcott over Benteke, or even Maloney or Michu.

Could work out for you but Arsenal are a side who can rout teams (ask Newcastle or West Ham) and them against QPR has the potential to be a goalfest.

Yeah I know it wasn't the logical choice but it would have felt wrong benching Benteke the week after scoring a hatrick. Anyway hopefully if works out.

they're all players who could score very highly though, it's not like you took the hit bringing in players like davies or dawson. i wouldn't be too concerned about the hazard niggle, if he doesn't start tomorrow he'll come on as a sub and should then be a guaranteed starter v spurs which is probably the better of the 2 for him to start anyway, might even start both. Kone could have a huge haul, the same with tevez, he plays 2 very poor teams, similar to hazard he may start one and be a sub in the other but say 110, 120 mins against such weak opposition could see him score a couple of get a couple of assists, the bale one in itself could cover the 12 point loss so while an 8 point hit might have been safer, you could be very thankful you took the 12 point hit around 10 o clock wednesday night.

4 point hit & 8 dgw players in my team, hope it doesn't go to shite like the last dgw did.
Looking at other teams it seems my nearest rivals have made some baffling transfers & line up decisions this week,it's as if they didn't even look at the fixtures. Here's hoping their mistakes mean that I sew up a couple of leagues this week.

    C'mon Gareth Bale!!!

Tbh I'd see you as having the advantage. I'd take Mata over Silva, Hart over Jussi and Sagna over O'Brien.

Lukaku over RVP is debatable as well.

    i hope you're right :)

going to be one of the most eagerly awaited team news of the season in about 30 minutes, especially from the city game, a lot of people have aguero, silva, tevez, toure, zab, nastasic. watch dzeko come along and have a few people cursing him.

I think Mancini will play full strength today. The midweek game is the rotation risk.

yeah i'd agree, just hope my 3 play, Hart, Zab & Tevez, if they start the midweek game then it's a nice bonus, well i'd expect Hart to start both.

Anyway, i expect JaxTeller will be along shortly to tell us the team news.

edit: ah no tevez, should mean he starts at home to wigan though so not too bad.

Makes no odds to me all my rivals have him. You would expect Aguero to be on the bench tues now and Tevez and dzeko to start.
Wonder who plays in behind aguero today.

I concur. Looks very good at the minute. Hull actually have Meyler as well so be good for Ireland for them to go up.

Aguero to get injured in the second minute. Tevez will come in and get two.

Oh that's brilliant. No Tevez. Great start to the week and a ball had yet to be kicked. A goal or two from Aguero and a blank from RVP and I'm Home and hosed in my private leagues

i have tevez too and i don't see it as that bad a thing, yeah i was kinda hoping he'd start both but with a cup final next saturday that was unlikely, he should get 20-25 minutes today and then start at home to west brom, out of the 2 i'd prefer he started that one.

edit: think i said a couple of times earlier that city were playing wigan midweek, i did of course mean west brom.

Chances are he was only ever going to start 1 of the games he should now start the easier game on paper. Also todays team could be the cup final team which I hope it is as then tevez would also start at reading in gw 37.

Rosenberg starts his first game of the season he is a central striker should mean lukaku starts on the left .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,962 ✭✭✭Hogey007

hopefully Lukaku and Kone will get in a fight after a couple of minutes meaning they both get minus points and suspended for the second match :D

realistically though i'd be happy with anything less than 10 points each from this gameweek from them.

i can see someone racking up a 20+ score this gw, fingers crossed it's one of my players.

I think it is the cup final team and we'll see few of that eleven midweek.

Tevez did well earlier in the season against United when he came on so hoping for more of the same today.

Laughed when I read that. I admire you Manual Man. Never one who goes for the ordinary.

In fairness, I know plenty who are chasing 30 and 40 point leads and took point hits to transfer in players like Dawson, Vertonghen, Mata, Hazard, Lukaku and the other staple favourites.

When you're chasing a lead and time is against you, an approach like yours is what is needed.

ouch, i know it's nothing to do with FPL but can't help but feel sorry for that watford keeper, making his senior debut today, didn't even think he'd be on the bench but almunia got injured in warm up and the sub goalie who started in almunia's place got injured a few minutes in, 2 absolute howlers from the keeper has cost his team promotion.

Did Hull only draw in the end then?

yeah, hull drew 2-2, missed a penalty 3 minutes into injury time to make it 3-1, cardiff went down the other end, got a penalty and scored it.
