Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    The credits said that the footage was provided by British Airways.
    That would be the footage shot of the BA planes taxiing and taking off.

    Wonder how those flat roof extensions will last in 10, 20, 30 years time? A builder once told me that pitched roofs are much better than flat. I do not know.

    Flat roofs constructed properly with adequate dispersal of rainwater are fine. Once they're properly designed and constructed it's a perfectly fine type of roof to use (though it should obviously be kept free of debris which requires more maintenance than pitched roofs).

    The problem is that many old flat roofed extensions weren't constructed properly (still in accordance with typical construction standards at the time, but newer, better standards are now applicable). They were just thrown up as a quick and easy type of roof for small extensions, many of which have resulted in leaks and weren't insulated properly.

    Looking forward to seeing the family home on the show tonight. Gonna be very interesting to see what they did.. That house needed a good bit of work no matter what they were to do with it.

    Flip the house on it's axis

    Large glass sliding doors on the new extension

    Bring the outside in

    And put a window on the landing, sur it will look good when the building is finished {it may be the wrong size, offset position, colour and style}

    I used to live near there and flooding would be rare. Other areas in Baldoyle would be much more prone to flooding and are inland.

    Lovely view but 470k sounds ridiculous . baldoyle is just a so so area. Dont think any view is worth that ! Maybe it's cause I have similar view and pay 125 pw rent for an apt. !

    A space at the top of the house that will never be used in real life. Why not make it a bedroom? What a waste.
