Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dermo and his vent, he is a bleeding chancer, anyone check his credentials with the RIAI?

    DERMOT BANNON
    Architect - MRIAI

Do architects have something similar to Chartered Engineers/Chartered Surveyors etc

Surely a lot of these issues would have shown up in a structural survey?

I feel sorry for them. It's a money pit.

The new roof is due to the mezzanine.

No surveyor could know that the foundations were on sand. It would be totally impractical to check every foundation like that in every house. You could do it, but it would cost a lot.

    It's just a **** build.

Why does he insist on showing them homes that will sway their minds and budget during a build as opposed to before the build?

Some of the best homes on the programme are the homes not designed by dermo

Where the lake house is situated, there used to be a small little cottage.

Another common problem with Dermot... he keeps changing his fricken mind. Can he not have his mind made up on the design and say here's the plan. Now go.

It's always a few wks in and he's like oh well this has to change blah blah blah. Id hate to be builder working for him.

Whoever got that €470k must be doing some laughing now! Easy money

Seems to be the norm on that road. €200,000 cheaper if you don't need the view. Location, Location, Location.

Yeah, I think I remember it. I used to go swimming on the beach behind the house.

If they've applied for and received planning permission can the design change?

I'd have put a balcony on the front for drinking cans on, would have been tropic with the bay view.

The original plan was a fantastic house. Not sure where he is going to end up as he keeps changing his mind
