Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The road would put me off too with pets and kids

Wouldn't be too annoyed about losing the extension. Can be added on in the future.

It's a quick road in front of it too. And there's a junction just down from it so there'll be people shifting gears right outside. And a large tesco right beside it so lots of trucks. And also a halting site, though it seems fairly quiet. All in all location would put me right off, never mind the rot.

I'd only worry about its location because of the child. The noise you get used to!

I think you'd get so used to the noise, but I would be worried about the kiddos or the dog or whatever, need that road frontage ;-)

I assume they are getting Dermot and most likely Patricia for free.

No,they have to pay for Patricia. I remember an episode where they decided not to use her services in order to save money.
Surely they must have a special price for her though. Otherwise why wouldn't they be able to chose their surveyor.

It would take me a long time to adjust to somewhere without noise. Give me the sound of traffic any day!

And there goes Dermot redesigning the interior to what he thinks will work, their own ideas and plans set aside and guess what - the obligatory mezzanine !

It's actually right on the road, that would put me right off personally

I hate that. Throughout your life and your familys life your only one sloppy truck driver or car driver away from catastrophe. That old drink driving ad with the Fleetwood Mac 'Man of the World' theme tune has me scared of somewhere a crashed car could likely land in. I see sometimes houses just off and under the level of the road that give me shivers.

The mezzanine was something they pushed for.
Dermot suggested, almost in jest and they made it happen.

Good idea giving up a room to make that space bigger. The house already seems way too big for them.

I dont think i could live in a house on the side of a road as the noise would drive me mad. I'm too used to the quietness of the countryside.

It's a beautiful house but I would absolutely hate a house feet from the road.

I know it's been said before but how did their surveyor not spot the mould issue? When we used a surveyor they were up in attic etc etc. And such an old house too I am would of gotten an engineer out for a report.

They are mad losing a bedroom and bathroom to get a mezzanine

They could end up spending near €550-€600k on this house  and end up with 3 bedrooms
