Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I work in construction and this one is maddening me...a lot of things can NOT be done and must be sacrificed no matter how much you whinge and cry.

But ...if you have money.... can it not be done the way you want....or at least can they not tell you on the outset..no surprises. The q.s. is always trying to stick to her budget but there is always wiggle room?

    It's exactly what I wanted....Its not.....

This is the stereotypical comment from tonight's show.

Love the windows, so does she, but she still finds a fault somewhere.... I've a feeling a single bed and no spare room would have done her, seriously high maintenance.

Talking about being pressed for finances while getting the nails did

Which I’m sure she was encouraged to do by the show producers.

It is refreshing to see a 'fairly tight' budget and a relatively normal house. More realistic for normal people to identify with.

Much prefer seeing this type of project to last week's.

Im not exaggerating here, I genuinely still have no clue what this house looks like...

Its a typical 2 up 2 down house, google it. Sometimes a 3rd room, as a study room

I'd say it was set up and paid for by the producers

Anyone know what age she is? I was thinking mid 30’s but missus reckons closer to 50

We all have dreams, but we also have to be realistic.

All the money in the world can't solve some problems. I've had clients ask for certain ceiling heights where it was impossible to get it with soil pipes, mhrv etc...

Lots of fairly personal comments here.

I tend to agree with her. If underfloor heating is agreed to then she has a right to say - can you go back and try with it out.

She’s pretty well preserved if so.

She bought a house with woodworm...

Very true but in this case she had the her architect, QS and engineer all telling her she had to lose the underfloor heating and she was quite validly pointing out that one of them should have picked up on this issue at design stage. It seemed to me they were putting it on her when really they should have spotted the issue before commencement.

Yeah, pretty uncalled for really. I'd give her a lash if she was willing.

Here Christine, have a look at this house with real sash windows in it, not like the ones I ordered for you...

I would agree but she would have to accept that costs could change. I'm surprised that she is working in IT, I work in software development and experience has taught me if there is opportunity for something to go wrong it will and more will go wrong that you didn't envisage.

I'd say Dermot is a bit like Pat Mustard.
