Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hate the game not the player, the grants are available for all.

That's the problem, collosal waste of money.

I can only imagine ! Doubt they think much of his estimating widths

Id be closely checking the scalp of that child for digits.

Also, im sick and tired of Dermot's design. Its their money, so fair enough, but its predictable, clinical, cold and externally looks like a new build toilet block in a cemetery.

I got tired of watching Eastenders due to the fighting and shouting so I gave it up watching it.

Nice that the tax payer pays 40k for it.

Residential emissions north of 25% of total carbon emissions.

You'll be paying the fines for missing the targets as well.

But yeah, that's the spirit, Ted.

Spend 300,000 and give ma a bloody box room...she should have had her own little granny flat built into the build or at least a bigger room with own bathroom.

That's a bit unfair. There's a grant to encourage people to build to a high level of airtightness and insulation. Less cost to heat and less CO2 in the future.

I didn't like the kitchen. It wasn't Ma friendly. Oven not even near the counter and far too clinical.

    Ma's bedroom too small too.

I think that's my least favourite ever of his jobs.

I know there was a complicated brief with 3 generations (of frankly quite batty people) to cater for.

Just didn't do it for me at all.

    But wowzers, what a site!

I'd need to watch it again and read the comments re building out and on to the shed - I think I'd probably agree.

Me too . So much potential in that site and the old sheds and they get an ugly black box stuck on the house

There could be a second young lad in it if the two of them get that builder on his own.

It hardly came across as boasting , she was simply saying where she had been in the world , so what ? Lots of Irish people have lived and travelled all over the world ???? A touch of begrudgery?

A lot of people that post on here just look for something to give out about about the people on the show. They want people who haven’t lived anywhere other than the house they grew up in with no stories to tell, oh and they have to produce birth certificates for their offspring. And also produce bank statements and proof of earnings. 🙄🙄

The cost saving to heat will take a LONG time to make up that 40k.

Just talking with wife here, if you break it down that they landed in on Ma, took over her gaff cos they fancied the view and then shoved her in the box room to boot. Its basically elder abuse.

It's not, it is to save money in the future in penalties.
You would rather they wasted fuel?

The bedrooms are tiny. Ma deserves more, at least her own little sitting room

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,262 ✭✭✭✭Autosport

Granny should have had least had a bigger bedroom and the house more friendly for her, less steps and since she will probably be in the kitchen more it should have accommodated her.

They paid more money thsn 40k in taxes for the build.

Believe me it didn’t cost the tax payers anything.

I worked on a house years ago and the owner reckoned it would cost €1 a day to heat and have endless hot water!! It was a large house as well. I'd spend that much in a couple of hours!!

Maybe I missed the point but I thought the accomodation the way it was before the renovation was far more suitable for the lady who owned the house.
