Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Very odd, where are his real folks.
Surely you cant walk in to some home and take a child for the weekend.

They provide respite care for him

    I've just switched on.

    Are they foster parents?

I'm sure they've been vetted and have the full support and trust of everyone.

What's the story with the kid. Do they foster him or what's their association with him?

She was his teacher. They provide respite care for him

Ann and Barry are providing respite care. It's quite common for children with special/additional needs to go to a host family occasionally so their parent(s)/carers get a break.

No, they provide respite care for him but they have obviously become really close to him - and who could blame them

I'd imagine so. Seems like a better place to go for respite rather than in to some sort of institution.

What a beautiful thing to do.

What's up with the kid? What's the condition he has?

Sorry for all the questions but I missed the first few minutes

Echoes of Joanne O'Riordan to him. Has as much mouth (and I mean that in the nicest possible way!) as her, which is a great thing.

Spending 100k+ remodelling the house around him is pretty serious respite care, wonder what the real story is?

Look at him listening to everything that is said!

Lol I've just seen his tshirt!

    Tiny but tough.

    Super.

Will there be a few pro bono extras thrown in for this job?

Completely agree. He has the same happy go lucky, optimistic and witty personality as her. I love when she's on the late late. :)

That a couple are remodelling their house (like every other couple on this show) and are incorporating into the design the needs of a child they provide respite to.

I don't see any other real story than that.

Have to say I agree with this, it's a strange (if nice) story......

Why did Dermot not consult with the occupational therapist before designing the build?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,713 ✭✭✭BabysCoffee

This guy is the sweetest fella ever! He just wants to see Michael being happy.

    Coz he's a know-it-all

They are changing the house. I'm sure that decision would've came about with or without Michael. Have a wheelchair accessible bedroom is good practice no matter what the build.
