Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Surely planning permission would be needed for what he is doing anyway?

You can build a 40 sq/m extension to the rear of your house without planning, subject to some other conditions. This project may or may not have needed planning but they would have got it long before they showed the foundations uncovered there. They would have had to go back for planning if they wanted to to rebuild the house at that stage and put the build on hold

I am being snobby here...but is it in an estate of (ex) council houses?

Christ no! I would probably be snobby too and certainly not buy a council house! In a housing estate in a Midlands town built about 8-10 years ago.

Anyone know where approx in Donegal that house they looked at was? Don't like the house at all but my huband's ears pricked up when he heard them mention Muckish (we can see from his parents house)

They bought in 2012 I think. Going to live in it for the rest of their lives I assume.

I'd be happy to wait 3 months for planning if it was me...

Dermot said that a builder gets two sets of plans, one from the architect and one from the engineer and they work off both.

Sorry Dermot but that is bull, you work off one set of plans, its up to the project manager (Dermot in this case) to sort that out. Any discrepancies you work off the engineers drawings anyway.

Come on Dermot! Come up with a solution!

I actually was in Donegal back in May 2008 which was seven years ago. I wouldn't have going past that house but I remember that I went stopping at Letterkenny and doing outdoor pursuits in Gartan with my form group in Secondary School.

I have seen shopping centres in Letterkenny that are much bigger than that house btw (but I never had that time to see them on the inside).
