Seriously are some of ye aged 12yrs old.
Yes the two ladies are in a happy committed long term relationship.

I'm not sure what the budget can do for their house though.
Think dermot has bitten off a bit more then he can chew!

I must be missing the point as to why the architect, clients and builder are oohing and aahing over the house. It looks positively mediocre.

    Mod Snip [\QUOTE]

Or a married couple, as we generally refer to people.

Jeez, lads, can we all get over the fact that they're Shock Horror Gay Women

What a fantastic site, and if Dermot can pull off the rebuild on that budget (and i bet they find the moolah for the floors somehwere) it'll be some pad!

Kinda looking like they trying to get a 5 star for 2 star money...... may not end well!!!!!!!!!!!

I think a house of that style, of that age in Ireland is unusual - the wood frame and shingles would not have been standard when it was originally built.

I love the idea of a mezzanine! I don't know how practical they are when it comes to minimising sound travel but I think it will look great. :) Forget the rule "form follows function".

I've stayed places with mezzanines a few times. As a bedroom they're a disaster. They'll do for a night or two on holiday, but long term they'd drive you crazy. There's no privacy. Where I've seen them work really well is as a library, or a part time office.

I doubt it's staged. Some of the reactions and stuff seem too real.

Dermot is wasted as an architect. He should go for a career change and be a hostage negotiator or some job where he can really put his convincing powers to the test :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 458 ✭✭DK man

    Don't like the windees

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

Would ye give up going on about the fact that she's a senator ffs!

I'm sure plenty people who feature on this programme earn at least as much as she does, but that never seems to come up for "lay" people.

The two women do a nice line in mirroring clothing :D

I've never understood why things like beams have to come from Germany. Are they just much cheaper in Germany? Is no-one in Ireland capable of cutting things to size?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,344 ✭✭✭Thoie

That scaffolding is giving me a nervous breakdown, and I hate the beam across the window.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,812 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Dermot has actually, properly lost it now

That beam, straight up the window...... he cannot be serious

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin
