Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

All this fuss over a treadmill, just put on your coat and walk around those lovely grounds. Get some fresh air into the lungs while you're at it

Existing slates don't look too fresh.

With bedrooms for people who aren't going to living there in 10-12 years time, why was there not some emphasis given to what way the bedroom can be converted for future use. Otherwise they're having a block of small empty rooms in the future.

6 bedrooms in a build this size seems crazy. I'd rather have bigger rooms and give the kids their own areas by using mezzanines or something. Going to feel very cluttered and lots of empty rooms when the kids move out

There's gonna be some mish-mash of roof levels when this is finished, by the looks of it.

Should have just told Dermott what they wanted then bulldozed the whole thing and built a perfect place, the energy savings would pay off any budget overrun in a couple of years.

I must've missed where he mentioned steps. Why is he putting steps in a house for a very elderly woman?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,844 ✭✭✭✭somesoldiers

Is that wood from a dance hall in Indonesia

Maybe it's the way the programme is edited, but this pair are just agreeing to everything Dermot suggests.

    "It's a lot airier"

Try it again when there's a roof on it :D

Really not liking this build at all.

I don't think Dermot's house is going to look like that stunning ODOS house

    This house makes no sense

This builder is well willing to hang Dermot out to dry on his decisions (or non-decisions)!

Very badly planned, Dermot can't seem to see beyond the house warming.

He could have put stud partition walls in, so that when the kids are gone, and they are retired they can cheaply extend the house.

No real Project Manager on this build either by the sound of things.

Energies?? Most important decision you need to make is where to put the TV so outside light doesn't distort it.
