Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The dirty old roof looks desperate against the new walls

Don't like this house at all, don't like colours, a big no from me

They said the budget was 200k, do you think that includes the kitchen, floors etc or just a builders finish..

What about the child??? Too many steps and angles. Don't like it at all.

Mammy's "kitchenette" is about three times the size of my "kitchen"

I hate the dropped living room. Imagine when little baby boy starts crawling. It'll be a nightmare. Love the mothets part of the house though.

I do like the storage drawers under those window seats.

I have to say I would agree with her 100% on the kitchen. I love the white gloss look and a kitchen without handles is just stupid. I never like Dermot's kitchens. They always look cheap. A concrete floor is always horrible and cold.

It just doesn't seem like a home for a family with a young child. I'm glad Mary is happy though.

God Dermot's houses are exactly the same every time

Look fine till you have a few toys/clothes/magazines/stuff thrown around and then it looks bad. Too clean and cold.

There's an echo in that sitting room, bad design.

No renewable heating system, no deep insulated walls. Hello big bills.

    Madness in 2016.

The next time I hear a teacher crying the poor mouth, I'll send them a link to this programme.

Yep. €200 to powerhose it down woould be money well spent.

Ok, air pumps and underfloor heating is a good solution, so there are renewables, but it sounds like it was an afterthought.

No word on the final price. Must be well over €200K so.

delighted for the two of them, sunken room wouldn't be my thing but turned out fab in the end! I know Sarah well enough, grew up down the road from her and went to school with her! Wonder who'll be the next person around Nenagh to get him down again!

This is getting a bit ridiculous now, he builds the same house over and over again with zero variation, they should give other architects a go.

    Because they spent 200k?

Patricia said total was 207k. If that included everything inc the fitout , that's a serious price...

I really don't like the sitting room area. I like high ceilings and open spaces in your kitchen but your sitting room should be a separate cosy space. While Mary's area is lovely she doesn't have a view from her room any more out onto her village which is sad as she seemed to like this.

How is it any different to a teacher buying a house

Looks like just 5 episodes this series...
Five diverse episodes - one headstrong architect. Still - there's always Room To Improve.

    Ah.

They won't be swimming in champagne while butlers feed them caviar for an extra week so.
