Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?

I was reading a 'self help'/ personal development book recently and one of the questions asked in the book is:

What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?

If it was me, I would change my career. Something at this stage I don't think I would have to courage or be able to afford to do.

What would others on here do? Serious and AH type responses welcome.

I would set up my own business. I was involved in a family business on a part-time basis for 22 years until it failed. I am in a full-time job that I love but I would love a whole new direction where I am the boss

So I could drive really fast and not die or hurt anyone? And everytime I did anything at all, it'd go the way I wanted? So I could do every single lotto worldwide every week and win?
If you could do everything you wanted with the knowledge that it would always go your way, life would get fairly boring after a while and you'd probably kill yourself.

I'd fail as hard as I could. I'm a fan of paradoxes and logical impossibilities.

Without failure OP, you fail to fully appreciate your successes.

    That's a good point.

One thing I suffer from though is a fear of failure; there has been many things I haven't done due to being afraid I would mess them up. If l approached these situations with a mindset of thinking I couldn't fail, I would have done a lot more in my life.

Posted before on a somewhat similar topic-

See thing is, it depends on your own perspective of yourself, how you quantify success or indeed failure.

I could fill an A4 refill pad with lists and lists of failures; I could fill another TEN A4 refill pads with lists and lists of regrets.

I'd struggle to make a half page paragraph were I to list what I personally would see as my successes, but it's what those successes have meant to me and the impact they've had on my life, that by far outweigh the impact of the many numerous failures, and I tend not to dwell on regrets.

Ask her out? At least then you'd know how she feels.

If you wanted it badly enough Tom, you'd have made it happen already. There's a difference between seeking friendship and just seeking attention.
