Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Safe to say the neutrals won't be rubbing their hands at this one, but nevertheless it's a huge game at the bottom of the table for many clubs in the relegation battle.

Sunderland: Mignolet, Colback, Rose, Cuellar, O'Shea (c), N'Diaye, Larsson, Gardner, Johnson, McClean, Graham
Subs: Westwood, Bardsley, Kilgallon, Vaughan, Mangane, Marrs, Mandron

Stoke: Begovic, Shotton, Wilson, Huth, Shawcross (c), Whitehead, Adam, N'Zonzi, Walters, Crouch, Jerome
Subs: Sorensen, Jones, Owen, Cameron, Kightly, Etherington, Palacios

Going to be extremely difficult for Sunderland to break Stoke down with no Sessegnon I'd imagine.

    0-0.

    3-1 Sunderland.

    3-1 Sunderland.

I just can't see where Sunderland are going to get 3 goals from.

I just can't see where Sunderland are going to get 3 goals from.

We'll be lucky to score 3 goals in total over the final three games.

Much as it pains me, as a Villa fan I have to shout for Stoke in this one.

As another Villa fan I'd prefer an 18-0 Sunderland win, as it's one of the few ways Stoke can be relegated.

I'm guessing 1-0 Sunderland though - Gardner or Larrson power shot

Nasty tackle. That could have done awful damage.

Awful tackle, can't really argue with a red

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

    It's over now.

Gardner off. Dirty dirty player, did that to Ba a few weeks ago and only got a yellow. Then accused him of play acting. Pure filth.

    Disgusting tackle.

Reckon there could be a few more cards in this game!

Terrible player, a decent shot and filthy tackles is all he has.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,109 ✭✭✭Patser

Not quite the target I thought Gardner would hit earlier

Oh great. 1 - 0 down after 9 minutes. Why do I support Sunderland.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,357 ✭✭✭OneColdHand

Sunderland are probably stronger now without him.

Sunderland 3 - 1 Final Score. Graham, Johnson and N'Diaye

Sunderland 3 - 1 Final Score. Graham, Johnson and N'Diaye

After 41 mins, Sunderland have had 2 shots. Something big needs to change for that to happen.

Edit, my bad, that's not true. It's 6 shots. But I still don't see it happening!

Already has, Gardners gone off and Vaughan will be on at HT

I'd usually want to see Stoke get beat but as a Villa man, they gotta win this to keep some distance between Villa and the drop.

James McClean is all sorts of terrible.

His final ball has been fairly awful alright but the full backs arent getting forward to give wingers support so its easily defended.

Very strange to see a player like Gardner lose his head in a relegation battle. Very out of character.

    Good man Josh.

Just what Stoke deserve, theyve been worse with ten men, wasting chances, playing a dangerous game.

Di Canio should be sent to the stands if he cant stay off the pitch.

I nearly hope Sunderland score again just to see Di Canio lose the plot!

I'd rather see the game stopped again for a head injury.

Ya and then the player celebrating a goal should be sent off after that, this passion is unwarranted and a curse on the game.

Stoke are the epitome of one trick pony.

great strike by rose considering he's a full back and that was his bad leg!

Rose will be great for Spurs next season, will be first choice without a doubt.

He can still show passion by staying off the pitch and not breaking the rules.

I'd argue there's a significant amount of doubt.

We'll see but Assou-Ekotto will probably be sold, and Rose has been very impressive for Sunderland. I'd expect Rose to be the left back at Spurs next season.

When Kaboul gets back from injury Vertonghen will be regular at left back.

    4 mins added time
Johnson goes down and stays down for 1 minute during this 4 mins
Plus he gets taken off minute later
Ref blows up with only 3.48 minutes added time played

Probably ordered to blow it up early before everyone watching the game poked their eyes out with a rusty blade.

Didn't have a chance to comment last night but regarding Stoke and considering Sland were down to 10 men that was the most abysmal performances from any team I've seen this year, obviously they were happy with a point. And to put that comment in context I'm a Villa fan.

Hope S'Land can push on and survive, though not at our expense.
