Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Back up studio camera

I do studio photography as a sideline . I use a d300 . But I need to get a compact camera because my old loyal Panasonic 3 megapixel camera has come to an end .

I was thinking I could do with a backup studio camera just in case something happened one day while out doing a studio. I do in home studios .

I was thinking in the lines of maybe a canon g11/ g12

I've had my d300 for years now in to be honest I'm really happy with it . I don't ever look at new cameras . I just saw that camera in my local photoshop window

Anybody have any ideas . My budget is around 300/400
    Thanks

I've tried a G12 in the studio just to see how it fared, and I was pleasantly surprised. It has full manual control over shutter, iso and aperture, and also has a hot shoe that works perfectly fine with most radio flash triggers. Image quality will not be as good as the D300. You could also consider the Canon G1X which has a larger sensor and would improve image quality over the G12.
