I think the 911 operator should be sacked regardless for the way he handled Amanda Berry's plea for help, but listen to the call again - it sounds like he called her a "fùcking bitch" when he hangs up.

Has anyone checked google street view for the house where they were kept? Some aulwan sitting on the porch talking to the neighbour. Someone needs to find out when the google car passed through that estate

If this story was the plot for an upcoming movie script, I would say it wouldn't get next or near production stage.

The whole thing is quite unbelievable.

It will take many days, weeks, months for the whole story to come out.

The biggest question for me is how can someone go 10 years with 3 girls in his basement undetected.

Looks like a neighbourhood where if you poked your nose in other people's business or houses you may end up in a morgue

Worse... He had them in his Basement and in the Attic, so he was moving them up and down, and allegedly had them out the back garden at least once, at night time (naked).

It is crazy how they didn't get caught.

I read this yesterday, but i don't know where the source could have come from, because as far as i was aware, the girls hadn't (haven't) yet spoken to the Police in any detail.

Every time any of them tried to escape, they were beaten in the Stomach, also, if any of the girls got impregnated, they were beaten in the stomach to cause a miscarriage.

Ariel Castro has been charged with FOUR counts of kidnapping and three counts of rape. Brothers are not going to trial.

Castro's two brothers Pedro and Onil, originally arrested in the case, were not charged, said prosecutor Victor Perez at a news conference.

The charges came as two of the newly freed victims, Amanda Berry, now 27, and Gina DeJesus, 23, had family homecomings after vanishing separately from their Cleveland neighborhood nearly a decade ago.

Castro, 52, faces four counts of kidnapping relating to Berry, DeJesus, Michelle Knight, and Berry's 6-year-old daughter who was conceived and born during her mother's captivity, authorities said.

Sure ban religion as well. It's only a load of auld hocus pocus.

    actually pretty valid comparison......

religion gives people comfort in an uncertain world...

astrologers give people comfort in an uncertain world....

religion makes predictions about the future that it cant support....

astrologers make predictions about the future that they cant support.....

    anyways.

They've not been charged. Doesn't mean they are innocent. The police have only tentatively spoken to the 3 girls. Their evidence will clear or convict the two brothers. If they knew, even if they didnt do any abusing then they are for the high jump.

At this point, it does (or it should).

Until their guilt is proven, they're innocent as is the other brother (even though it would take a miracle to clear him with the evidence).

I do find it very hard to believe they were at barbeques at the house with their brother, as told by a neighbour, but had no idea three girls were chained up in the basement.

You are right. Innocent until proven guilty. If they are genuinely innocent, its a shame that their pictures are on every news website on the net, and they will forever be associated with this.

Agree. Like Harris and Roache even if they are proven innocent the fact that they were arrested and associated with the underage sex scandal it will hang around them like a bad smell forever.

    Mind games and threats.
Fritzl ensured his daughter and children didn't try to escape by saying that they would either be gassed or electrocuted if they tried to escape the cellar.
It's very possible this guy did something similar.

Chained up in separate rooms it seems.
    Jaysus...

It also is looking like the eldest, Michelle Knight (Who was never officially classed as missing) took most of the beatings..

There was a band member that used to go to practice in Ariel Castro's house. He was there last week.
On Thursday, a musician who often practiced at Ariel Castro’s house said he was there last week and heard noises, “like banging on the wall.” Ricky Sanchez said he asked Castro about it, and he blamed it on the dogs. He also said Castro — a bass guitarist in merengue and salsa bands — liked to play his music loud inside.
On his most recent visit, Sanchez said, a little girl came out from the kitchen and stared at him but didn’t say anything. He said he also noticed there were four or five locks on the outside door.

I am guessing, purely hypothetical, but is it possible he didn't lock up the 6 year old, because she is his daughter, and she may have helped Amanda Berry escape, or maybe gave Amanda a small amount of extra slack, to mind her child while he wasn't there.

Michelle Knight is still in hospital, apparently "recovering well".
Again, I'm guessing here, but given the circumstances probably not too far off the mark. I'd say Michelle Knight must've taken a recent beating.. Maybe it was her banging on the wall last week?

Jaycee Duggard was kidnapped when she was 11 and held for 18 years. She was kept in the backgarden in a shed, and had two kids with the guy. He was a convicted sex offender and parole officers would visit the house every now and then. One time they visted and her and the kids were in the house and still nothing was done. They even all used to go out in public. It's bizarre how these things can be overlooked for so long.

    Not one fcuking bit.

He kidnapped 3 girls and held them hostage and imprisoned them in his own home for 10 years and subjected them to torture.

Prison would be too good to him.

Hope he dies slowly. And painfully.

This has to be a wind-up -the harsh bit. Anyone that could imprison a person, sexual assault them repeatedly for a decade is not someone worthy of life.

Personally, I think death is an easy way out for this animal. He should be imprisoned himself, subjected to torture and feel every day what those women did.

That's so funny sunflower. I was thinking the same that perhaps death would be too good for him. That he should be subjected to the abuses that he inflicted upon those young women.

Maybe prison in one of those banged up abroad countries might do him good.

What about hard physical labour interspersed with torture. I would like him tofeel the fear those poor women did. Never knowing what each day was going to bring.

The resilience of those women is truly remarkable. I cannot even imagine what they went through for a day let alone a decade.

Yes, one of those rat-infested, filthy prisons where he didn't know where or when his next beating was coming from would be suitable for this ahole.

One of the girls apparently had 5 miscarriages because he raped her numerous times and when pregnant punched her repeatedly in the abdomen. That's just one of the girls, who he kidnapped and and kept in captivity for 10 years. I'm guessing we'll hear of even more his crimes.

And you say execution is a bit harsh?

Or instead of reviving Hitler... THIS
The crocodile shears was an instrument of torture used in late medieval Europe and typically reserved for regicides – those who attempted (and, perhaps, succeeded) to assassinate the king. The shears were made of iron and were based upon the concept of pincers, but—instead of standard jaws or blades, crocodile shears ended in a pair of hemicylindrical blades that, when closed together, formed a long, narrow tube. The insides of the blades were generously lined with teeth or spikes. After being heated red-hot, the crocodile shears were applied to the erect penis, which—once exposed to sufficient tension—was torn from the prisoner’s body; or at the very least leading to severe arterial bleeding.
    .

    Ohio Kidnapping law
If such kidnapping creates a substantial risk of serious physical harm to the victim, it is a felony of the first degree and the offender shall be sentenced to an indefinite prison term consisting of a minimum term of fifteen years and a maximum term of life imprisonment
So he would probably have got life anyway..

I can't imagine he'd get the death penalty.. But who knows...

THIS PRISON might be perfect for him. Beaten and raped every day, and shackled. He could be their Plaything.

what would you expect the dispatcher to do exactly? Are you trained in dispatch yourself to give such advice :roll eyes: You do know that dispatchers at "trained" to stay calm and try to get info from the person - not go hysterical like some would want them do.

From the tapes I've heard, they certainly were not calm if they were trained to be so.

Dismissive, impatient yes, almost disinterested, but not calm. You can hear the panic increase in the victim's voice as the call progresses.

Perhaps, but it won't change the past, and he's never gonna be able to do it again anyway cos for sure he'll be in prison for the rest of his life at best for him.

Use these guys to do work in prison and let psychologists/psychiatrists study them to see what makes 'em tick.

Well it should be solitary. Otherwise what if he tortures some other inmate in prison? I know you will say its good enough for the other prisoner, but it means this guy is still getting his jollies.

This gives us a better shot at understanding and preventing it happening than executing them. There's a chance to gain some insight if he's alive, there's no gain if he's killed.

I am totally against the death penalty in all cases anyway, as I don't think two killings cancel one another out or two wrongs make a right. It just makes killers of the State too.

Factor in the cost of keeping him alive over the next 20 years if he lives that long
No one wants to die, Bundy tried everything to escape the chair
Look at how Charles Ng has made a laughing stock of the judicial system in California
What information does one think that they would glean from interviewing this guy?
He showed no mercy to his victims why show mercy to him?
Richard Ramirez , Rodney Alcala all waiting on death row trying to avoid it .taking too long .
Maybe for guys who are definitely guilty like the above the Saudi method of justice is the best after all regarding murderers
