Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Decent start..

    Yeah, I really enjoyed those.

Shady Greeks makes a nice change from the usual stereotypes!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,501 ✭✭✭✭Slydice

    That was a decent start!

    Calling it now though
Captain Chandler is definitely on a spy mission
    or maybe that's obvious

    They didn't need
the explosion to include the folks jumping off the cliff. The graphics looked outta place. we could've lived without the graphics

Well, 3 episodes in and still as enjoyable as ever :) Love this show

I was trying to remember who the boxing trainer was! :-D

Captain looks so different now. And everyone has beards. :-)

    who ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,411 ✭✭✭Melodeon

    who ?

Peter Weller (aka. Robocop) played Dr. Paul Vellek in the last episode, as the trainer of the fighters.
He tells Chandler that they call him "Il Dottore", which is an interesting echo back to another great TV series:
    http://spartacus.wikia.com/wiki/Doctore_(title)

I'd probably watch a few episodes of Peter Weller discussing philosophy with characters from various TV shows.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 46,329 ✭✭✭✭Mitch Connor

I recognised the fighter immediately but couldn't think who it actually was. Took me a while to realise it was former WWE guy John Morrison. Was annoying me until I got it!

First few episodes were good - i'm liking the arc with Chandler, accepting himself as a hero. Also, delighted Sasha is still in the show, total freaking bad ass. Didn't cop at all til looking at the cast that she played Dottie in Agent Carter. Total Badass.

The 'flirting' between Taylor and Kandie was far beyond terrible though. "Its like our bodies work well together" or something extremely rubbish like that.

Yea, enjoyed the latest one alright. More info on Weller's character and how he fits into things, plus Chandler is back where he belongs. Sasha seems pissed with him, but I get the feeling she'll get over it.

Earlier I was thinking how they did blood loss seemed like it was probably more realistic than most shows .. not that I know much about what blood loss does to someone.

but like.. that wiki article has me thinking they must be giving a good go at keeping it real :)

The dream sequences were very well done. I love the way they tied Mike's kid into them in very clever ways.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,509 ✭✭✭sioda

I don't know why I half expected him to get killed trying to get to the vision of his son.

Also opens the door to getting him hooked on the red leaf tea

    Oh ... Sasha
    looks pissed

In fairness, the first thought that comes to mind for how
it'll go down when she sees him next
is something along the lines of
    the traitor
scene in Star Wars The Force Awakens:

I think I've just seen the best twists I've seen in a long time. Completely blindsided me. My jaw actually dropped.

    This season is superb.

@Slydice - I don't think you (or Sasha) are going to get that closure. :)

The finale worked better having the two episodes on the same night, made it more epic

Yeah superb pair of episodes. Action packed!

What's that about next season? I never saw a promo and I can't see anything on YouTube.

Season 4 and 5 were filmed back to back.
Here’s the promo for next season

Still one of the best shows on tv at the moment!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 904 ✭✭✭geecee

its taken me 2 months to get through season 4.
HUGE drop in quality from seasons 1-3 in my opinion

Thought that Peter Weller was an awful main antagonist (equally as bas as he was in the end of Sons of Anarchy) and hated the whole Greek navy story.

The dream sequence episode when Mike Slattery was injured must have taken me 10 goes to finish...

Overall very disappointing... but hoping for a return to form next year!

Watched two epiosdes of this lastnight, found some of the acting woeful and some seriously cheesy lines, e.g; First guy, "Revenge is a dish best served cold", Second Guy "Well I'm hungry"

It has 4 seasons it must get better ?

This is one of my "go to" shows and one of the surprise shows of the last few years, this and Shooter.

Don't expect stellar performances or script, but expect a fun exciting show!

The most recent episode all over the place with flashbacks, I hope this isn't the way the rest of the series will go.

I’m watching season 5 episode 2 and I can’t stop looking at Bridget Reagan / Sasha Cooper, has she had too much Botox recently lol

Possibly the worst however many minutes of scripted television ever. I kind of got into how tragically bad it was though - particularly the gunfight cut in the rum cellar :D

I wonder is that the version that actually aired or is it some kind of prank?

Haven't watched this week's yet, but the one thing that I'm really noticing this year so far is that the budget seems to have been drastically cut??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,946 ✭✭✭✭_Kaiser_

Just watched this week's episode and
while certainly action packed, the last 5 minutes make no sense at all.

The US Navy's most wanted walks into their command centre and no one searches her or removes her personal effects?

Then they allow a medical team to similarly breeze right past security with predictable consequences??

Meanwhile it turns out that Tavo's gang built a detailed replica of said command centre in Cuba to let them practise storming the place???

I don't mind "suspension of disbelief but this is stretching it too far at this stage. I'm even more annoyed because this has been a great series until this final season but something is badly amiss this year

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,912 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

It's lost all the fun it had in the first few seasons for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,946 ✭✭✭✭_Kaiser_

It's lost all the fun it had in the first few seasons for me.

They're trying to do too much at once for a 10 episode season IMO - even more noticeable because it's the final season (and only 3 episodes left).

The time jumps between episodes, the multiple fronts in terms of sub plots and character arcs, the fact that Nathan James is now only a bit part in a show originally based entirely around it.

It's as if the entire writing and production team was changed between seasons.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,015 ✭✭✭✭Mc Love

Anyone get the feeling it's turned into a propaganda tv show? The opening credits definitely feel like that.
