Seriously tho, I wouldn't be surprised if whoever does come in they bring Gary Neville back as part of their backroom staff!

Would LOVE Gary Neville to come in as part of the back room staff... GREAT SHOUT !!

Definitely should have a couple more CL Titles imo. I think Utd have been there 17 years unbroken since 1995 / 96. It's a catch 22 though - there are managers better suited to the tactical chess of European football but those managers wouldn't be as good as Ferguson at squad building to dominate domestically for such a long stretch and create 17 straight shots at the CL for themselves.

Wigan, City, Everton to cost the league last season.

All those group games for the CL last season when the team got dumped out.

Both games in the FA Cup against Chelsea and West Ham this season along with a lot of smaller games when the team have lacked imagination. Throwing on a load of strikers in the 75th minute isn't the way to overturn things. Like I said, obviously the positives outweigh the negatives but most of these have happened in the 2nd half of the season where United are supposed to step the game up and it hasn't happened the last 2 seasons.
Everton game was hardly down to tactics now, just poor defensive discipline from our back-line.

Again, I believe against West Ham he threw on two men by the name of Giggs and Van Persie that ended up being the difference. Look, I'm not going to argue that Fergie didn't make some tactical errors in the last two years; he did. But compare this team to any other and look at what he has done in the last 2 years. Pretty damn well if you ask me

Funny seeing Moyes in with the other top class names. He's a good manager, but not United quality imo.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Real or Bayern have not won CL in over a decade.

Maybe should have 1 more CL, but its a competition where best team in Europe does not always win it.

    For another day though.

Just saw this stat. Since Fergie took over in 1986, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City have had 47 different managers. Really puts it in perspective and how long and how successful hes been.

If you took Chelsea out of the equation it would probably look even more impressive as its not like Arsenal and Liverpool went through managers at a rate of knots.

Supposidly the new manager "will be cut from the same cloth as Busby and Ferguson". That sounds more like Moyles than Jose.

Although, if that scouser has one wish left, stick your money on Roddy Collins
