Any obvious reason for this? New Lidl store open nearby?
    Cross-border shopping?

Just checked and new Lidl stores opened in Virginia and Tallaght in the past month so that might explain it.

Why do Aldi never give the weights of their meat super six or any other meat products on their website? they give the price per kg but never the actual weight of the product which makes me think they need to hide it as other shops are cheaper?

Other places arent cheaper though are they? Tesco meat is the poorest and cheapest of the conventional supermarkets in my experience and even their deals are way more expensive. Even their yellow stickers on stuff thats expiring that day or tomorrow are more expensive from the quick look I had the other day.

Another one on page 7 in this week's paper to.
Pity the other 32 people living in Cavan don't read this thread.

That's probably it alright, although out of the two stores in Cavan town Aldi always seems a lot busier than Lidl.

But surely the price per Kg is the important one for shoppers looking for bargains.

I definitely wouldn't say that. Picked up Tesco Finest Irish Angus striploin in Tesco on Tuesday on special @ €8 per 454g pack when the equivalent was on special in Aldi at the same time for €9. The fact I'd a €10 off €50 spend & save voucher too added to the saving.

It's very dangerous to one's pocket to automatically assume Aldi/Lidl are cheaper than the other supermarkets.

Not really, its a pretty safe assumption to make. Maybe the odd time you'll get something on offer in Tesco but the meat and bread and their entire own brand range is so poor its a false economy. Dunnes and SuperValu arent even worth bothering with these days.

Don't recall a coconut being on before (maybe Halloween), those little green apples are as dry as the desert if there the ones I'm thinking of, rest look good though. Cheers Briant
