    Hi,
    There’s a group of us (6 men, mid-late 30’s) planning a golfing & drinking weekend.
We’re thinking of staying in Killaloe or Ballina. Went to Lahinch last year, looking for somewhere new and relatively close to Shannon and in between Cork and Galway
Are they so close that it doesn’t matter if you stay in Killaloe or Ballina?
    Any accommodation recommendtations?

East Clare golf course seems to be the closest course, anyone have any opinions on it or any other golf course recommendations nearby?

    thanks in advance,
    Patrick.

Killaloe, Co. Clare and Ballina, Co. Tipperary are twin towns divided by the river Shannon.

I'd recommend the Lakeside Hotel in Ballina/Killaloe but there are lots of great guesthouses in the area too.

East Clare is a great course although it could have done with some general upkeep lsdt time I was there. If you're looking for a challenging coursr in top nick without crazy green fees not too far away check out Dromoland and Shannon golf clubs, especially Shannon, great courses

Of course theres a difference between Killaloe and Ballina

Killaloe is Clare. Ballina isn't :pac:

east clare is a good coarse. good mixture of long and short. not expensive. Mountshannon hotel is near by and an excellent B&B in clareville very close by. Clareville is walk distance to Scarriff where there are a couple of good bars and a few places to eat. McNamara's do food that well priced.

Anyone know which course would be better- East Clare of Limerick Golf Course?

Limerick Golf Course is Ballyclough I think? Personally I'd much prefer East Clare, lovely course at great value although maintenance of the course was a bit of an issue the last time I was out there

if staying in killaloe, nenagh is another option for a round, as close as those you are considering already

If they stay in the Lakeside Hotel Ballina, Nenagh is even closer, in the same county even. :)
